Prince to the Symbol: What do you think? Do you think Prince ever had it in mind to change his name to the infamous symbol without the WB problem, or did he think it up just as a way to win the battle with the WB, for the time being? I was always curious to know if Prince had this idea brewin' for a long time comin'... Would he have done it if the dispute never came up? What do you all think? Just curious, not a theroy...

Personally, I really don't know, but whever he calls himself, he will always be one thing in my eyes; One talented artist. Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.

I always thought it had something to do with:
Re:2:17: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he that receives it.

That is interesting. Is that something you found on your own, or did P make reference to it? Whatever it is, that is a new way of looking at it.

Prince had always used different names for himself even before . Eg: Jamie Starr, Camille, Joey Coco to name a few, so even though it was somewhat shocking back then, looking back, it's just Prince playing the same old "what's my name" game!
Most people in the world still think his name is The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, even though he was never officially called that to begin with! [This message was edited Thu Mar 20 18:24:56 PST 2003 by toejam] Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com
