One of his best, Gainsbourg. And the unreleased version is even better.
EVERY person I've ever played it to loves it. [This message was edited Thu Mar 20 7:52:07 PST 2003 by onenitealone]

The "unreleased" version was released on VHS. Fear is the mind-killer.

'Beautiful Strange' was first featured on the 'Beautiful Strange' programme broadcast on Channel 4 (UK TV), on 24 October 1998. The 'show' opened with the song, followed by an (edited) interview at Paisley Park with Mel B, formerly of the Spice Girls, and parts from the Cafe De Paris concert, London, 27 August 1998.
Perhaps inevitably, the programme soon found its way on to video tape, CD and CD-Rom. A longer official version of the programme was then released on video (US and European compatible formats) sold through the official retail website. When the NPGMC launched in 2001, the remix CD, 'Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic' formed part of the annual membership (desribed as a bonus CD). This featured a different version of Beautiful Strange, with Mike Scott also on guitar. When NPGMC 2001 finished, the remixed CD went on sale through the retail section of the official website. I cannot recall if it featured in the general retail section of the website (for everyone) or the Premium retail section for NPGMC 2002 members. (Soource of dates: Uptown's 'Days Of Wild') ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Rave in2 is available in the non-members retail section.
