Boytrouble is his worst song since the 90s I think it is really bad for several reasons. 1. Think of what songs could have placed instead of it. Like Screwdriver, Fall in love 2nite, Live out loud, Xtralovable, R and R love affair, Boyfirend away from me, Same Page different book, Da Bourgeoisie etc. 2. The jabbering in Spanish at the start - what are they saying. 3. The Shitty rapping. 4. The lack of Prince on it full stop, unless he is playing a guitar or drums. 5. Juvenile lyrics aimed at teenage girls. 6. The fact it sounds like bad Lady Gaga, Spears, Bieber, Idol type boyband/ girlband, xfactor music. . Seriously songs like Boytrouble are reasons why Prince is not taken that seriously anymore. The only decent part is Ida's bass solo. The only song I can think of since the 90s that even closes to this turd fest is Purple and Gold, which was not really a commercial release. . What do you all think of Boytrouble, because it is instant skip all the time for me. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Hard to argue with much of that. This is why I cant wait for him to get rid of the overrated 3rdeygirl (and throw Joshua out with them asap).

Don´t agree. Despite that Boytrouble isn´t that bad , there are worse songs out there like
Jughead Arrogance Undisputed Wedding Feast Everybody Loves Me Animal Kingdom (worst song i know from P imo) just to name a few...
And actually i like Boytrouble more than Marz btw, just my opinion....

It's pretty bad. Not sure it's the worst, but it's up there. The girls should have had their own damn album in a 3 disc thing like Lotus Flow3r. I doubt Warners wanted a 3 disc set for 11.98, but it could have been 16.98-22.98, and we all would have bought it anyways.
Boy Trouble sounds like somebody was listening to Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl, or whatever that song was, and then they wanted to make it much much worse than that song.

I meant the title as since the 90s, inferring that selected 90s tracks like the ones you have named are worse than this. Since 2000 I consider this song his worst ever official album track. Some 90s songs make Boytrouble look like a masterpiece in comparison. [Edited 11/5/14 14:43pm] Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

yep agree. I've replaced this along with Stopthistrain with Bourgoisie and Screwdriver and now the album is brilliant. Better than AOA IMO of course She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

IDK, Prince puts out so many bad songs now, that this one, which is kind of bad, seems pretty great in comparison.

Yeah, this song is fucking terrible. Embarrassingly bad. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Boytrouble is total junk. The definition of cringeworthy. I don't care that I don't know what they're jabbering about, in fact the start isn't terrible, but the beat, the rhythm, the chorus singing, the mindless lyrics and delivery that make Avril Lavigne sound mature are all horrific misjudgments... and that's before you even get to the god-awful, throw-the-CD-out-the-window, what-the-hell-IS-this-JUNK 'Here come the boys!', like some ufcking 90s tampon commercial.
Terrible, terrible, terrible song that doesn't even fit the mood of the album. This song, StopThisTrain and TicTacToe to me are late replacements, probably suggested/insisted upon by the label to make the album 'poppier'. I can imagine them thinking that stuff like MenstrualCycle and OctopusHeart weren't commercial enough.
But not only do these three shitty tracks totally derail the album, they undermine the whole 'power trio' concept of 3rdEyeGirl, which was supposed be a bunch of girls who might look good, but who more importantly can rock your face off, and paints a picture of them as giggly, girly, dumb teenage panderers, desperate for a commerical hit and desperate to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Oh, I don't like Boytrouble.

True. . Peronsally, I dislike it enough to have removed it from the playlist I listen to in the car. It may have been a fair inclusion on the Vanity 6 album though.

Much to my shock, I have no clue how this song goes...I've only listened to it all the way through once. For that matter, I've only played the album a couple times. Just a few years ago, it would have been unfathomable for me to be so disinterested in a Prince release - although, to be honest, I'm not sure I consider this to be much of a Prince release. More of a protege album with lots of Prince involvement. So I'll listen to it as little as Elixir most likely in the long run - meaning not at all. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

a) We don't really speak Spanish in this part of the world. Its only spoken in Latin America, Spain, Phillipines and parts of USA. b) What language is it then?
. The majority of the responses so far are coming out against Boytrouble as we al know its a throwaway filler track. [Edited 11/5/14 17:34pm] Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Just cannot like this one. I don't really get why it's even on PE. [Edited 11/5/14 17:56pm] "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

That's not even fair at all, considering Prince's output from '81-'82.

The only problem I have with "BoyTrouble" is the only problem I have with other songs on PlecElec--Prince isn't singing lead so it's more like a protege song. However, once I got pass that, I like it for what it is: funky and fun. And for the dumbass "funk" purist on this site, I'm not saying it's a "funk" song; I'm saying that Ida's playing is funky as hell, and, again, it's fun. And the concept that people don't take Prince seriously anymore is laughable to me. Any dumbass that doesn't take Prince seriously is just that--a dumbass whose opinion isn't with dried excrement. Prince wanting to have fun with a few songs does nothing to tarnish his legacy, but I don't understand/subscribe to that dumbass notion that anyone who has created greatness can tarnish their legacy.

Nothing wrong with that song. It's a 3rdeyegirl song NOT a Prince song. Think of it like a Vanity 6 track. Jeez its kinda fun And no its not Spanish. Its literally gibberish.

This song doesn't bother me nearly as much as Ainturninaround, Whitecaps, Stopthistrain, & Tictactoe, to me those are worse. I don't really get why everyone is so hung up on Prince not singing, I just wish he'd pick better singers if he's not going to sing.

I think it's fun. No idea what language it is but certainly not Spanish. And I still don't understand why it bothers you that people speak other languages. The 'only' you wrote before Latin America, Spain, Phillipines and parts of USA is funny... Paz y sé salvaje.

I like the groove of the bass and drums, it is pretty funky and would not have been a bad choice for a Appolonia or Vanity 6 album. Yeah, the rapping isn't great, but the song is fun and funky and better than some other tunes on PE imho. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

It's not a great song, but for me it's still better than almost all of AOA and most of his last few albums.
