Although, contrary to that, another colleague of mine directed a couple of videos for Prince during the 3121 era. They were always ridiculously quick turnarounds - 'Prince is going to be in X town tomorrow night for 24 hours. We want to shoot a video, are you up for it?' kind of thing... and by all accounts he was a very different person. Relaxed, fun, professional as hell as always, but very pleasant to be around.

Sounds like a Brian DePalma film... about identical twins.

But if you run a business, and have a VIP around. The easiest way to deal with your staff is to tell them to avoid making eye contact. "Don't look at/make eye contact with the VIP - just carry on as if they weren't there". This helps you (The Business owner) appear professional (as if your staff are used to VIPs). People stare at celebs all the time it's just what happens so I can see exactly why a business owner would say that kind of thing to people working for them.

In the case of Prince there have never been reports of his staff being told not to look at him. It's something venue staff are told.

I've been hearing about the eye thing for awhile. The first guy that i dated. His dad used to play piano for Frank Zappa & Stevie Nicks on tour in the 80's And he got to play with Prince one day. Literally just one day and he has no idea what happened to the music them and the band played.

He was instruected by friends not to look him in the eye. Cause he fired someone a week prior for doing so. So who knows could just be a diva thing.

Geez, I knew the guy was a control freak, but what to eat and not eat at Paisley Park.....really! I could understand the not staring part to some degree, because I don't like when others stare at me either, but that's because I'm shy by nature and it makes me feel uncomfortable, but with Prince, I don't know what that's about, especially if it only pertains to men and not women.

He had a beautiful young girl as a passenger, I still can't decide if it was Delilah or Lianne possibly.. She was short.. Because she jumped out of the car and ran in a couple of times and stood in front of the store. My guess is they called in an order and were picking it up? This store is about a mile from Paisley.. After posting my story on the Living Legend group on FB, I learned that 3rd eye girl frequents that store and orders tons of food from there. He has been spotted in Chanhassen a lot lately, even in Target and Walgreens from some accounts!! This particular natural foods store I ran into him at, has been mentioned before in these forums. My daughter took a not so great photo of his car before we rolled up next to him. If there is interest, I can post the pic?

s nice that he can go to those places without too much hassle. I think u can post the picture but I posted a pic once of his car on housequake and it was taken down. Not sure how they feel about that around here though.

sweet car! i wish i still had the blue baby bently pic..........i walked past it once and it started up, could not see him inside because of the tinted windows but when it drove away i recall never hearing a car that sounded like that - the engine sounded amazing and i'm not really a car guy

Joshua, What is there to "buy"? The guy lives and works a mile from the store and he's a vegan, it's a health foods store, you do the math!! Like I said, I've talked to the employees there, and the girls are in there all the time.. This time, he drove up and waited outside, he is Normal, and he does eat food, believe it or not.. I figured some people might be skeptical- I'm totally fine with that.. It was my moment, nobody else has to "buy" it. Have you never read the stories on these forums about him riding a bike around Chanhassen? He does leave the house!

I have heard of other celebs with the "no eye contact" rule. One who supposedly had it in his deal was Neil Diamond.

I remember Ed Vedder talking about the effect it has - like, have you ever taken drugs and become paranoid that everyone is looking at you? Well guess what, when I go out to get catering at the truck, EVERYBODY IS LOOKING AT ME. He obviously didn't like it.

I guess if I had that much control over things in my life, and that was something that really bothered me, I would try to control it too. That's one of those things that people will tell you is the price of fame - don't try to be famous if you want a normal life that bad.

It was one of the best days of my life!
