The list of current upcoming releases till February was released and there is no Purple Rain remaster on the list.

Yeah you pretty much can say that PR reissue is not going to happen, at least not in the near future. Both parties dropped the ball on this, no blame, but just missing the boat on it. Maybe WB felt it would be too much at once, maybe PRINCE does not want to deliver certain things, who knows. Im just happend with the Re-issues coming from the artists that were not dropping the ball, Tears for Fears and Bryan Adams to name 2 and just a side note both have new records too, so not sure what Prince's issue is.

How can you drop the ball if you never wanted to carry it..

What is the point then of having the dumb masters he wanted all along? That is the big question EVERY artist i know of that owns them, re-releases their stuff.

John Mellencamp, U2, Bowie, Elton, Billy Joel, Springsteen, REM etc....all own them all have reissued there cds remastered with bonus stuff regardless if the album was good in the first place it got a re-issue (oops forgot) Lennon and Paul McCartney all of the George Harrison stuff the list goes on and on. I dont see Prince's obsessions with masters when all you are gonna do is hold on to them for what? So the kids he never had can sell his music in 2050?

You bring up a valid point. After all these years of fighting for his master recordings,it would be a shame if he didn't do anything with 'em.Prince needs to realize that his longtime fans are getting old.We won't be able to fully enjoy/appreciate remasters and bonus tracks when we're old and retired, lol. If he's gonna do something with these recordings, now is the time.

So the numbers are in and the SNL performance really had little to no impact...

AOA is out of the TOP 50 and the only increase of sales was the last weeks chart which had a 19% gain.

It sold less than 5,000 copies this week...

Yeah now that numbers are picking up a bit because its that time of year when people buy more this album is going to "sad to say" disappear, plus as much as I liked that jam on SNL, it was confusing as hell, and most of it was from an album no one is buying at all and most except die hards really know is him too. Plus the show gets bad ratings so I didnt really expect much for him, a set up like the Foo Fighters had with doing a week on Letterman would have been an amazing piece of promo.

AOA jumped from 70 to 68 on the Billboard 200 this week. Not a huge gain but hey, something. Looks like Plectrumelectrum has fallen off the top 200 completely though.

It's sad, Plectrum will be his 2nd lowest selling album of all time, only behind N.E.W.S.

I wonder how few collectors are around to complete their collection.

I for myself buy every Prince album no matter how good it is just to round out my collection.
