Must say I was impressed and I didnt expect to be. CLouds sounded great and the guitar work in Another Lover was too hot for TV

I did want him to wear the heels though...and there was an odd piece of afro sticking out on the right side of his head. Still cool though. THe 3rd eye shades were ALL PRINCE.

Love the song selection, shocked by the performance. Terrible in every respect. Singing, playing, stage presence, sound - just brutal.

THe singing chick on Clouds was not that great (just pretty) and we all know 3rd EyeGirl is overrated - Prince is still good enough to overcome it all and he proved it again with 2 albums on the charts

It was ok performance. Not the best but not the worst. I was glad to see him give the solos to Donna though!! She did good.

Only thing I didn't like was the Dracula get up P was wearing during Clouds. Those 3 eye shades are weird but cool. Don't believe the detractors...his voice was on point. Clouds is not bad played with a band. I had my reservations about that song when I heard it with a band but it wasn't bad at all.

That was awesome! Prince, 3EG & Lianna (and Liv!) turned SNL OUT. Fabulous choice of songs too. So glad he did at least one song off of AOA. And it was a treat seeing him start out on keyboards. Surprised he did more PE songs but I like that he promoted the album more and showed off his rock 'n' roll chops. And SO glad he did "Anotherlove".

.

The 70's funk styles in goth-black were very cool and worked well for the numbers they performed. P. had his third-eye shades goin' on, Donna was a monster on the guitar and Ida looked like the high priestess of bass.

.

Loved the entire medley. Fantastic performance!

I totally agree. woot! excited nod I don't understand all the naysayers who say he completely sucked, as if he's supposed to give you an out-of-body experience that transports you to some distant galaxy and back. This man showed us some real music once again and gave a lesson to all of those supposed pop superstars who are raging the charts right now; particularly that one incredibly overrated female country-turned-pop star who has been all over the media this week. rolleyes

Nah that's why I like 3rd Eye Girl. Donna is talented. The performance was killer. 3EG did great and Last I checked Prince can't play two guitars at once so DUH! He needs someone good like Donna! Jackass! Understand what a band is about.

I havent watched SNL in years - I am taken aback with how lame it is even with Chris Rock and Leslie Jones. THey needed PRINCE to make this even worth watching.

Nonsense. Trading solos and rythm is cool.

I was referring to solos so playing 2 guitars is not a relevant or credible retort as solo means 1 guitar for that moment. Hey, but you love what you l ove and I will love Prince. guitar solos.

It was a pleasure seeing Prince and it gave some much needed exposure for his lates projects. When his performance ended I could swear I heard the collective grown of Americans who were hoping to get their Purple Rain on...LOL !

It was fantastic -- even the unplugged guitar only served to showcase how good what was missing was.

He looked like Sly at the beginning and like Hendrix at the end.
