whats your favorite element of a least favorite prince song

just daring you to listen to a prince song you tend to skip and isolate at least one really likeable aspect of it, and i mean a genuine musical element besides the fact that it ends, etc. for example it could be the bassline or the drum beat, or one really good line from the lyrics. bracing myself for much love for (parts of) jughead etc......

I love the ending of Style because it feels great when that horseshit is finally done.

Burn over hot charcoal, Sausage King. How dare you? biggrin

I just read you praise Rave on another topic, either this is sarcasm or you are fond of skinny men dressed in Smurfs glittering costumes.

The part of “3 Chains of Gold” starting about 45 seconds in and lasting about the same. Starts with a flute that eventually gets urged on by a bold guitar.

You say you’ll call me and then you don’t
I’ll want to kiss you and then I won’t
We both do nothing and call it love

I think it’s an okay song (bombast and all), but for me it’s an absolute killer moment.

I really liked some of the guitar work in "Cybersingle"

The Thieves In The Temple demo is great gospel-blues.

The album version, I don't think it ages well.

But there's "The kind of power that could part the sea" moment in the extended version, and suddenly, briefly, it elevates and justifies all the minutes before it.

It's true. Well, not the Smurf thing. But I love Rave and hate Style. Did you ever call 1-800-NEW-FUNK? I spent countless hours on hold trying to track down my Crystal Ball order, with Style playing on loop the whole time. That, my friend, is HELL.

I'll give a real response though. I hate the song Animal Kingdom. But I admire that Prince was singing about a real issue that was/is close to his heart, and that he wanted to change people's minds.

Oh girl, the things U make me do!
Genius is the only way 2 describe U
Anything U've ever dreamed of, baby
Just ask me, I'll do, I'll do,
I'll do it for U, baby
- Scandalous

Prince's vocal delivery right there reminds me of Bobby DeBarge of Switch.
What?

Already I can think of the following

.

1. Some decent horn lines on We gets up

2. The kicking bass track in Boytrouble

3. Rosie's vocals on Jughead

4. The jazzy sax and horn lines on the Flow

5. Prince's singing and the chorus on Mr Happy

.

One song that gets slammed alot as a bad song is "Dig U better dead" I do not know why, I love the whole song. Chaos is the most slagged off Prince album of all time and I do not know why, its a decent album with some good to great songs.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

You stole my answer. lol

But my least favorite song is Animal Kingdom and I love laughing at the SpongeBob Squarepants dolphin sound at the end.

See my comment above about Style being the endless hold music on 1-800-NEW-FUNK. It's all mental association. That fucking song is pain. Endless pain. "Style...is being on hold for 2 hours. Style...is never getting the Crystal Ball you ordered. Style...is seeing Crystal Ball on sale at Best Buy before you ever get yours."

Shockedelicus

The rap utterly ruins Sticky Like Glue, which would have otherwise been a cute little gem.

The string arrangement at the end of "Arms OF Orion" is gorgeous. Otherwise the song sucks.

When Prince comes in and sings his verse on Da Da Da.....Sublime. I would just take that annoying rap off of the track.
