I didn't say anything about that.
I said she slept her way to a semi-notable life.

Mostly because, she slept her way to a semi-notable life.

I wonder if she were a man, if you would define her by her abilities in bed. Manuela is educated and achieved on her own accord. Equating her success to her value in the sack is really unfair and seems like typical chauvinism. And Im a guy wink

But I bet she was and/or is good in bed. But I bet Mayte is way better.

I always liked Mayte better.

The 1990s saw Prince go in a cuckoo direction from his 80s peak. You still had the big memorable hits like Cream, Beautiful Girl, Diamonds, 7, etc... But it came with incorporating hip hop, changing his name to a symbol, losing a some-20 pounds, overstocking on makeup, changing the public perception of him in a completely negative way, and releasing albums that were no longer able to go platinum. Throughout all these... traumatic... events, Mayte was there for P. By 1995, I think she had reached enough exposure to begin recieving heavy offers, but no she stayed with P. They really seemed to be in true love, more than P with any other female imo. Emancipation is a semi-masterpiece (in ways) with so many heartfelt lyrics about her. Everything about their relationship and their onstage chemistry, as well as the fact they stuck together for almost-10 years, was just awesome. The whole 'birth of baby and the aftereffects rumors' are a different story, but equally as interesting.

Manuella on the other hand suffers from her lack of 'action'. She supposedly made Musicology Prince's comeback album, which is cool... but while Mayte was dancing with P everywhere, speaking his interviews for him, and generally being his best-friend kind of figure for years with a talent for dancing and performing, Manuella always seemed like that quiet figure whom Prince married and swiftly hid from the public eye. You see her at award shows from the 03-06 era and say, "Hey, his wife!" And that's it. That's literally all she contribute(d). To me, she always just looked like his sister lol. BTW, Mani fans, this isn't to knock her as unimportant or something. Just saying, her influence compared to Mayte's seems more on the down-low. I love the 21st century era from 2001-2009, and I know she was behind this golden period in Prince's career, and the stories of her and Mayte and Prince (basically that whole 97-01 era) are really interesting.

But she was never THE Prince wife.

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

He kissed her on the cheek during Purple Rain (a la the movie when he kisses the weeping Wendy).

Always struck me as odd when Wendy was right there on stage with a guitar, but then nobody apart from us die-hards even noticed W&L were up there. My personal take is that it was pre-meditated/planned/rehearsed and he did it as an homage to that movie moment or to make his usual point about not repeating what's already been done.

But yes, possibly Tamar was more than just a protege, word on the street though was that Prince was still Manuela's man wink lol

Bullshit. Prince and Tamar were not an item by any means. Tamar was just a protege/project to concentrate on until Manuela filed for divorce. Don't believe me? After Mani filed for divorce, here come The Twinz, when I saw them on stage with Tamar on the SNL performance of Fury I knew where that was already headed. Other than the BET awards closing performance of 3121 that was the end of Tamar and it was just Prince and The Twinz just like I thought and then a much better singer Shelby J took Tamar's place and got longer lasting exposure. The last time we saw Prince with Tamar was when he sat with her and I guess that was her mother at 2007 Grammys and he only sat with them for a little while and then vanished because he's never been one to sit through 3-4 hours of an award show. Can't say I blame him on that.

Ermm not quite sure what you are calling bullshit on. I didn't really express any strong opinion as to whether Tamar was just a protege or something more, because well ...I don't really care lol

Your post seems a bit ranty and all over the place. confused

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.
