Train -Prince & the Revolution 7.7.1986

Come on Man

Get your bags

We gotta go

man tell that girl goodbye

let's Get outta hear

I wanna talk 2 you 'bout this love affair
Is it really true that you don't care?
Seems like every day you grow farther away
Tell me what can I say 2 make you stay
Cuz if you really don't love me anymore
(If you don't love me)
I just don't know what 2 say
There's a train that's leavin' in the morning (Train)
That will take you straight 2 Santa Fe (All the way) (Train)
If you feel this thing we got just can't go on (Train)
Then I won't stand in your way
I won't stand in your way
I won't stand in your way,

I'm so in love with you, U're all I wanna be
Whenever you go away, babe, you take a part of me
(Oh, yes you do)
A man's gotta do what he gotta do
But remember, babe, wherever you go, I'm with you
Cuz I need ya

If you really don't love me anymore (If you don't love me)
I just don't know what 2 say
There's a train that's leavin' in the mornin' (Train)
That will take you straight 2 Santa Fe (All the way) (Train)
If you feel this thing we got just can't go on (Train)
I won't stand in your way

Dream Factory version

  • Prince - all vocals and instruments, except where noted
  • Eric Leeds - saxophone
  • Atlanta Bliss - trumpet

Initial tracking for Prince's original version took place on 7 July, 1986 at Prince's Galpin Blvd Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA (the day before he recorded Eggplant and two days before he recorded It Ain't Over 'Til The Fat Lady Sings).

Prince's version was included as the third track on the 18 July, 1986 configuration of the album Dream Factory.

When Prince decided not to proceed with the album after disbanding the Revolution, and concentrated instead on Camille and Crystal Ball (both of which were also aborted), he decided not to include this song...

One of my favorites from the Dream Factory sessions, love the sounds, stripped but complex and his falsetto reminds me of his earliests albums

There are so many sounds, & he makes it sound so easy. It's a pretty great ride
