As far as I know, the cocaine reference in Old Friends 4 Sale was about Big Chick Huntsberry who had a cocaine problem back then and gave an interview to the National Enquirer back then, and also sold some pictures, hence the "sold some old pictures" line. It is also about Morris Day and Vanity, but more about Chick in particular.

Love your positive attitude regarding Prince despite the ups and downs and bad and good regarding his career and his personality. In my opinion, it´s part of the journey and like you, I am grateful for where he´s at at this stage in his life (or our lives ) and things could be much much worse. I know they could be much, much better, too but that topic has been discussed to death.

Sorry i don't buy it. Why cancel an album that late in the release process claiming you you had a bad feeling and then play 3 songs from that album a year later on it's replacement's tour. he cancelled it that late on purpose to get it out there without releasing it properly. when the bootlegging of it went through the roof and it's legendary status, WB were silly not to release 6 years ago.

In the 80's version he speaks of "2 friend that got stuck in the snow". That refers to Morris Day and one other The Time member. That didn't make into time for a show, because they claimed to have been literally "stuck in the snow"(as the story seems to go). Afterwards he fired them. For "getting stuck in the snow". It was a lowpoint in their relationship, that never has fully recoverd after that.

In the version that was released on The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale, however, he speaks of a woman:

correction: the story of being "stuck in the snow" is not about Morris, but about Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam.

I imagine when Jimmy & Terry was stuck in the snow. It must of really hurt >. He jump started their career, yet they betrayed him behind his back! They could have created a potential disaster! If 's quick thinking didn't happen, to fill in for them at a crucial tour appearance.

Not necessarily. I've done PLENTY of drugs in my life, so I can say from experience that you can get the same tireless energy when you're working hard on something that you absolutely love. You can lose yourself and lose all track of time. Doing the 15 hours a day thing consistently through drugs is not sustainable. You will crash hard eventually and your body will pay you back for the strain. If he's done stimulants I'd say he's probably only dabbled or not had good experiences on them and backed away. Since he seems to be very INFP'ish I'd say his body would benefit more from opioids than stimulants since he's probably already very naturally easily overwhelmed by stimuli. In fact, when I saw the James Brown/MJ concert madness I immediately thought this guy's nervous system is so super overstimulated and he doesn't have a clue what to do.. which is what happens to people with hyperactive autonomic nervous system reactions. People with those types of conditions generally take two lines of action, either they numb themselves with depressants or they become really super strict about controlling their environments. Prince's behaviour thoughout the years seem to point to the latter.

He's obviously drank at various points. There were reports of him drinking (port I think it was) through a straw.

Around the Emanciation era when Maytes bodyguards went to the papers they reported that Prince had drank a bottle of wine and mixed it with painkillers or aspirin I forget which.

The picture DanDan posted from the second coming video clearly shows he's high on something.

Regarding the band members and their use - Prince has always been more "Do as I say not as I do"

The only thing that can be said with some degree of certainty is that he's likely never used Heroin or Crack. I say that because both are highly addictive and wouldn't allow him to perform the way he does.
