March 1981 show at Uncle Sam's? Has a recording of Prince's March 1981 show at Uncle Sam's (now First Ave) in Minneapolis ever leaked? I've been reading a lot about his early career and came across mention of this show. But I don't recall ever reading anyone discuss leaked recordings of it. Note: I'm not asking for where to find it. I've listened to Sam's 81 and it certainly isn't soundboard quality, but it's decent for an audience recording of it's age.

I would say the historical value of the show far outweighs the sound quality. I had the old cassette tape, and it wasn't a great listen by any means. I think the file floating around online sounds a little better, but not by much. | |
