Is there anyway to get this disc to run on a computer that was bought within the last 5 years? Do you still have one of these discs? I really miss this oldie - it is one of my favorite Prince collectibles.

you can run it in a windows 3.1 virtual machine. someone did package it up in an easy to install and run package like that. it took about 500mb and works on win7. you can run all sort of old software that way

Has anybody ever made gameplay footage of this? I've always wanted to see what the game is like.

You should be able to make a disk image using Toast or one of those, and then as mentoned, open it in as a virtual machine. People run old software as emulators all the time, but it takes effort. I'd wonder if you can't find a Download somewhere where it's already been done.

I still have about 35 of those things lying around.

"Game" may be slightly overstating it.

To be fair it was pretty good given how old it is. These days it's the kind of thing you expect on flash/html5 websites. There was a lot of random clicking involved and video jigsaws.

Or you could just open the disc in Windows Explorer and watch the videos that way. I owned the thing for about 2 years before accidentally playing it in my CD player and discovering the song interactive was on there as a CD audio track.

It hasn't aged well, but it's almost painful to see how much distaine he has for the internet these days when he was doing this kind of thing before most people even had a computer at home.

I guess I wouldn't spend more than 5 minutes toying with it once every 5 years today but I somewhat wish I'd kept it

Does anyone know what other two songs were unreleased ?

Obviously "Interactive" was the third.

They don't know what they're talking about. The exclusive content was Interactive, Endorphinmachine, a short intrumental of Loose! and an instrumental mix of Kiss and that was it. 2 alternate mixes of Race from the CD-Rom appeared on boots years later but since the mix section didn't work for me, I could never figure out if they were available as such on the CD-Rom or just made by fans with the game's remixing console.

Same here--it's been sitting around collecting dust for years...

Just run windows 3.1 in VirtualBox. There are instructions and free downloads on the interweb. Should work just fine.

I think thats a harsh review. As a "game" it was rubbish obviously, but it was pretty close to what websites would become 20 years later.

The bit about the required spec made me laugh:

For Windows, that includes a double-speed CD-ROM drive, 15 megabytes of space on a hard disk, 4 megabytes of RAM (although 8 megabytes is recommended), a 16-bit sound card and a high-resolution monitor capable of supporting 16-bit color. For Macintosh, the specs include a double-speed CD-ROM drive, 8 megabytes of RAM, 10 megabytes of hard disk space and a monitor equipped to display thousands of colors.

Its funny how in most cases new technology usually leaves the older generations behind and only the younguns take it forward. I remember having to program the VHS timer for my folks because they just could not get their heads around it. But with computers and phones, generations old and new have by and large kept apace. They have become so ingrained into society that everyone from the old to the very young have adopted them with open arms. Even where I am, one of the poorest countries in the world, there are 2 things you can count on - you can access the internet from anywhere, and you can buy a Coke anywhere. Even in the deepest darkest places in the bush!

Its not all good though. Going on a safari and seeing tourists on the back of the game drive vehicles all twiddling their thumbs over their phone keypads, updating their Facebook pages, whilst on a once-in-a-lifetime lion sighting. Poor form. But at least they can quench their thirst with a cool Coke when it gets too hot!

I agree with your comments above. One thing that I really can't relate 2, is how people think they have 2 be connected 2 these devices for every waking moment. I find that very odd.
