Has Prince decided to start publicizing his last name more? It took me by surprise when Prince was referred to in Affirmation III on his Art Official Age album as "Mr. Nelson", has his last name ever been mentioned before in a recording?
Does anyone think he now wants to have more people know what his last name is, as sort of a way to pay tribute to his roots? "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

I could understand how being called all your life by your first name could get on your nerves. The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

I remember reading in an interview (can't remember which one) that when he changed his name back from the symbol that he considered using his full name Prince Rogers Nelson on all of his recordings going forward. Obviously he never did.

Interesting, I did not know that. "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

I meant to say before the AOA album. "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

many ppl have suggested that wbh and the accompanying segues are about his son, another Mr. Nelson. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

But that would be mr. Garcia - NOT MR NELSON.
PRINCE IS SPEAKING OF HIMSELF IN LIKE OF HIS OWN RESURRECTION OR THE RESURRECTION OF HIS OWN DAD, WHO MOST LIKELY ACCEPTED BIBLE TRUTHS PRIOR TO HIS DEATH.
PRINCE NELSON OBEYS A GOD OF ORDER, JEHOVAH, WHO IS NOT LIKELY TO RESURRECT A WEEK OLD BABY WITOUT ITS MOTHER (NOR A FETUS FOR THAT MATTER) - PRINCE, AS ONE OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, DO NOT BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE IN THE LAST DAYS WHO SAYS 'NO THANK U' OR 'ARE NOT INTERESTED' IN THE BIBLE TRUTH ARE ELIGIBLE FOR LIFE IN PARADISE. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES TALKS ABOUT A RESURRECTION OF BOTH RIGHTEOUS AND UNRIGHTEOUS - THE UNRIGHTOUS ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A FAIR CHANCE TO LEARN THE TRUTH, YET IN WHOM JEHOVAH SEES A POTENTIAL.NONE OF PRINCE'S EXWIVES ARE ACTIVE IN THE TRUTH.

I think it's just a way to show the character in the segue. She is I assume some employee of some cryogenic bank waking up a customer who probably paid megabucks to be put on ice. I would guess the price covers being called sir, Mr Nelson and comes with a mint on your pillow too.

It's pretty much just another agonizing example of Prince wanting talking over the music. Clouds is a somewhat passionate song about romance, and the "Stupid Mr Nelson Futuristic BS" comes in out of nowhere, and the song itself has NOTHING to do with whatever BS Ida or whoever is talking about. It's even more annoying than the "Please Access Another Experience" mess that ruins the great horn breakdown at the end of Billy Jack Bitch. Why is it more annoying? The Mr Nelson garbage in Clouds...makes no sense in the context of the song. He may as well have invited Tony M back to give his "Mr Money Minder" speech.

Wow about all of that! lol Prince and Mayte were married. Their son would have the Nelson last name. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. The phrase 'Mr Nelson' works quite well to produce a feeling of alienation in the future. Had she called him 'Prince' it would just have sounded cool and pop-starry.
It's very unlikely, I think, that the person addressed is Prince's dead child: the person waking up from hibernation is explicitly told to unlearn things - which wouldn't apply to a child that hasn't yet lived.

Sorry, but Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in telepathy, affirmations, etc. Nor do they believe that 'everything is you'. There is nothing remotely 'Christian' or biblical in the language Prince uses to desribe his awakening on AOA.

INCORRECT SINCE MANY JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES BELIEVE THAT AS PERFECT HUMANS HUMANKIND WILL BE ABLE TO SPEAK WITHOUT WORDS, THIS INCLUDES MOVING MOUNTAINS WITH MERE THOUGHTS. ALSO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES GET DAILY AFFIRMATION THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION - BIBLE BASED AFFIRMATIONS.

I'll address him as Mr. Nelson, too, if I meet him in person. "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."
