The Holy River (Remix)

The best Prince song i've heard all year...

Anybody here know who the remixer is?

What's the use in half a story, half a dream

I have no idea what the OP is talking about. The instrumental isn't a remix, it's a rerecording, and there are no remixes that I know of, only edits.

There were remixes done for the facedown maxi...I'm assuming it's one of these, clocks in at over five mins

Princevault mentions 2 such remixes indeed, I wasn't aware of this. AFAIK they were not circulating so far, though: u may have discovered a brand new leak biggrin biggrin

Very likely the remixer is prince himself, since Pvault mentions no remixer.

Well it doesn't sound like its the "dirtyhouse" remix. And I never discovered it, somebody recorded it off of the radio

What's it like, how does it differ from the released version?

Its better IMO. more of a chilled out late 90's RnB feel

It shares the "drops" sound with the Instrumental NPGMC version!

It's the same as the instuments remix but with vocals. A friend of mine taped off the radio in St. Louis Mo. on magic 108.

U might not like the taste, but I'm still going to stick your face in this Funk

In the late 90's I bought what looked like a promo maxi single of Facedown - only to find out when I got home it was a homemade bootleg. I bought it from some crappy now defunct record store. It had the Holy River Remix on it. So I've heard it. I didn't keep the cd, I assumed this was some fan done remix at the time.

So it's been out on a limited boot CD print for 15+ years except it somehow never made it to Work It 2.0 and other collection, hence the fact that none of us had heard it before.

Wow!

I don't know I just remember a small crappy record store and buying a cd I thought was legit and thinking it turned out to be some fan made crap and throwing it away. I remember hearing the remix though. The shop was a hole in the wall one man run record store who just sold stuff be personally liked. He went out of business pretty quickly, I remember one day just seeing the store empty.

So this is a full vocal version? And it's apparently a Prince sanctioned remix? It's good? Damn. Assuming it's good, I hope this gets released someday. On a special deluxe edition of Emancipation. Let me pause while I laugh to death.
