I Cant Get This Song Outa My Head! I woke up this morning with this song running through my head on a constant loop. It is driving me crazy! I will be in the middle of writing a report and bang! There it comes. I can be talking to a client and then, ding dong, there it is taunting me into insanity. Round and round it goes, looping in a barbaric, unrelentless way through the cicuitry of my mind. It is just the chorus. I dont even kjnow the rest of the song.
Which song is it? That bloody fucking Girl Thang!
I dont even like the song and havent listened to it since I first got my hands on it last year sometime. And even then, I probably only listened to it twice. So why the fuck is it haunting me? Its 2pm now, I woke up with it in my head at 6.30. That is one hell of a long time to have a shitty song on constant rotation in your head. Its like Chinese water torture.
Should I play the song and listen to it in the hope that it breaks the loop and allows it to flow out of my head? Im afraid that may just feed it and increase the volume... Ive tried listening to other music in the hope that it evicts the criminal monstrosity. But to no avail. Even as I write this all I can hear is "that girl thang, that girl thang" over and over and over agian.
Anyone ever had a song that will not leave them alone like this? Especially a song you do not like? |

Yo, Rebeljuice, don't fight it, bro. Prince is attempting to communicate with you telepathically by inserting and looping the track through your memory temple. Have you had a fling with someone new lately? If so, then yeah, you've got it again, "that girl thang, that girl thang." |

I feel for ya, having a song you dislike all up in yo' head, but I really like "That Girl Thang" and have added it to my AOA/PlecElec playlist. However, I usually treat having a song I dislike in my head like having hiccups. If I don't overly stress and just let it happen, it will eventually fade. Unless, of course, you are one of those rare people who are stuck with the hiccups for the REST OF YOUR LIFE, then...I'd worry. :^) |
