Prince and Lenny Sitting here listening to the latest Lenny album and trying to remember if either Prince or Lenny said that the two of them had material recorded together and record labels are the reason we can't hear it.
Am I just getting old and remembering stuff I didn't actually hear or read?
Anyway, I think a "super group" type colaboration by Lenny and Prince could be something very interesting and I suspect would be widely accepted. I think it would be an awesome career move for them both.
It would make for an awesome tour also.
I just feel that they are both in similar positions career wise and them together would really excite some people.
Any opinions?
Anyway, the new Lenny is his best listen in quite sometime.

Well, considering the FACT that this is a Lenny song and Prince actually has no rights to this performance - whatsoever - because there are so many posts of it on Youtube, that Prince nor any of his minions have been able to get taken down. This is likely as close as you'll ever get to what you're talking about, so enjoy it for what it is!

I heard that Lenny appears uncredited on the song "Billy Jack Bitch"...and probably on a few other Prince songs,as well.

They also did Fly Away in that concert. Not sure why Prince wouldn't ahve the rights, it was his pay per view concert/dvd.

Oh, I almost forgot.
Nevermind the fact that it would actually depend on whatever contractual agreements that were made between #TeamLenny and #TeamPrince. This is Prince's galaxy and the rest of us just live in it.

I don't remember where this was, but I seem to recall that Prince has made references to multiple recordings with the two of them (and I think Lenny has too), making them sound like they were really creative free-ranging sessions. Then Prince made some sort of reference to Lenny still being on the plantation, so probably nobody would ever hear them. . This was back when Prince spent a fair amount of time saying other people were still on the plantation. . Does anybody else remember this?

American woman isn't a Lenny Kravitz song. Kravitz covered it.
RE: the performance - it's from the RAVE2000 DVD - Which I'm sure Prince has the rights to.

There are copyrights for songs and copyrights for performances and if prince has either of these he can get something taken down. Likely he just isn't bothered noticing right now. Aside from automated take downs these things usually come in purges.

what i like about that performance is prince allows it to look like lenny is the star and prince is just helping out. whereas the truth is that it's really a prince production/arrangement that would of taken some time to perfect, but it just looks so off the cuff and spontaneous. Not sure even lenny would have rehearsed with prince, but the band would of had a drilling of it. also there is some pre-recorded stuff going on there.
