The greatest moment of Prince's career?

For me it isn't a concert, or a video or a movie or a song...

Indeed, it's a group of unreleased live sessions that do it for me:

Girl Of My Dreams/Can't Stop This Feelin' I Got/Data Bank/Strange Relationship

It's sexy, LIVE, weird and wonderful.

And never released.

I love it.

What's yours?

Dorothy Parker @ the HOB in L.A. in '02. For i was in the audience and was chanting "Dorothy Parker," which allowed the greatness of my voice to be on one of his records. The presence of my voice has allowed prince his grestest moment ever in his entire career.

It has heen written and it is so.

In my prior post I was being a horses ass.

These moments r close...but I'd hafta say forever in my life/it from the same flick. A simple loop, guitar riffing and handclalzandfingasnaps and u have what is arguably one of the most riviting, engaging, and compelling 5 minutes on stage, but yet so bare-bones. IIWYG and ICNTTPOYM had all kinds a choreography and staging and fancy show stuff. I love it and its excellent... But it doesn't entirely envelop me like FIML/It.

At the other end of the spectrum... I was just becoming a fan. I had the Hits and some stuff...but there was a looking dry spell... Just as I got into him. I was nibbling and biting at the hook...buying this and that....then VH-1 honors interactive/endorphins machine happened. The moment of that scream...it sank the hook DEEP. I was all in from that moment. Had no choice. That hook and line took me everywhere...willingly. Full blown addict with full rejection of any intervention or rehab.(mayte's ass wiggling around may have had summin to do with it too). All jokes aside...it was an awesome reimaging effort with sounds unlike anything prior in his repitior(sp?). It was a prince that had almost nothing to do with prince....amazing.

The Yahoo live stream concert. Why play more than three songs when you've already kicked all the ass that can be kicked?

Greatest moment = filming and subsequent release of the videos for 1999, Little Red Corvette, Automatic, and Let's Pretend We're Married. The first two in particular fueled his rise to stardom and showed his maturity as a performer with charisma.

They're all recorded on the same set, which I believe was a tour rehearsal stage.

Without this step into the mainstream, many of us would've never heard his music.

1984 was his greatest year, and the greatest moment was his AMA night--especially, the final performance.

Purple Rain. It's a classic. Great lines to quote. And can't forget when he slapped her.

when he released the 1999 album.

At that moment,he elevated his career to another whole level. The crossover appeal of that record was so obvious and undeniable.
