The Xcess Space, Revelation, Acoustic 3rdeyegirl, and the Rita Ora song...

These sound great.

The Xcess Space sounds the closest Prince song in a long time to a hit in my opinion, but still, it's totally weird and freaky and sounds really harsh, and Prince's voice sounds charged. And the Rita Ora song is in the same realm, Prince should snag it for an album of his own. A Prince album with that fierce electronic sound would be immense, like Primal Scream's Xterminator. I for one, would lap it up.

Revelation. It's so atmospheric. It's one of those songs I could probably listen to all day. Prince's voice is hypnotic. It sounds like TRC album production - which is a huge HELL YES. Prince should release an album with the NPQT.

The acoustic 3rdeyegirl song. Good stuff. I hope 3rdeyegirl are here to stay, at least for another album or two. An album switching up between hard rock and acoustic music... again, I'd lap it up... lick

What do people think of these?

Just last week i was listening to Xterminator and had the best time. Such a great rock album! But never in any second I considered Prince could do such stuff - as much as I like almost all of his work. If I had to choose between Xterminator and PlectrumElectrum, Primal Scream would win, hands down. That record is 14 years old and still ahead of its time!

Yeah, Xterminator (XTRMNTR even) is rocking. One of my favourite albums. Xcess Space and the Rita Ora song, especially the Rita Ora song, is probably about as close as he would get to that kind of sound... come on Prince! stickpoke

The acoustic blues song lyrics:

"If you and I were alone in a quiet place,

theres one thing I swear

I'd make you lick the tears right off my face

Cause you put each one of them there

If you and I were astronaughts Id blast you off lol

off into space

Find some moon and leave you on maroon

chained to a mountain like (wave?)

not sure where you came from

but I know where youre going

you broke my heart a dozen times without even knowing

Its (?) sad to say, thats how I feel

and the slightest bruise upon my heel

if you and I were testifying in a critical case

everyone would see who you are

trapped in a corner with that smug look on your face

trying to find the keys to your raggedy car lol

Like (man?) running in place while your (bumping?) tears get chased

dangling from your (?) cigar.

Trapped in the past, You're going to get no where fast

the (time?) youll find is really just (fog?)"

Revelation lyrics:

"Revelation (2x)

Its coming back to me now,

you and i were meant to be together and (?)

Revelation (2x)

It seems like you've always been here

Now that you are, stay with me forever my dear

Revelation (2x)

XX Face/Xcess Space/The Exes Face lyrics:

(inaudible slowed down talking)

"A few months ago,

Or maybe it was years

twas a heart break and so many tears

how she gonna make it out here on her own

a body like that should never be alone

a kiss on the stair way

another mans embrace

how was she to know just what was taking place

too busy with the jugular and how it tastes

to remember what she saw, XX face (Xcess space)

A long time ago

or maybe yesterday

you and I together..."

I immediatly liked what i heard in these two snippets, and to me, in no way did they sound like anything on TRC. If they did, I would not like them at all. Not a fan of TRC in any way shape or form...

what they probably meant was that Revalation sounds like the TRC production, as in

warm, real instruments. which is right, since it's basically the initial track that Josh

played, the NPGQ track. a bit later prince says "play the slow one we've worked on"

and as josh starts "Revalation" it's basically the same track, just prince's vocals on

top of it.

Until it all runs out of steam because AOA and PE sold 3 copies each and Prince throws his toys out of the pram blaming WB for everything.

Well I do agree that it's warmer, in that it doesn't sound overtly corny or childish, which AOA certainly does.
