Ainturninround appreciation thread.

I don't get why this song is being so criminally overlooked on the org, although I suspect it may be because Prince isn't on lead vocals.

This is one of the best all-out rockers on the album, great riffing, great middle-eight, awesome solo from Donna and sinister Rainbow Children-esque ending ("what you are hearing is an ultra-sound of Donna's brain"). Is it Hannah on vocals on this track? I think her voice works really well on this one... sounds very free and uninhibited....

Yeah, if Prince was on lead people would probably be loving it. It's great. Hannah's voice works on this song, especially with the P's backing. Funny you mention TRC, because there's a bit near the end that's very reminiscent of Family Name in my opinion.

The bridge is utterly grotesque, and very bad choice of singer. Sounds like a Alanis Morrissette songs from the middle nineties, what a joke.

Grotesque? Wow, strong words. What about the bridge do you find to be grotesque?

Also, it sounds nothing at all like Alanis Morrissette in any way, shape or form.

Nothing like Morissette , are you kidding ? That's not serious...The voice, the production...That's not very original. Reminds of like Avril Lavigne too, who was already a copy-made of Alanis Morissette, but for the teenagers. What kind of audience Prince wanted to touch with this crap ?

I couldn't help laughing at the beginning "oh god, Alanis Morissette", and I loved the first two tracks.

The bridge doesn't fit well with the rest of the song, and the lyrics are so ludicrous, that it ruined the song. Like many of the songs on the 2 albums, when you hear it, you have the impression to have heard it before.

Other than the fact that they both have vagina's and sing over guitars I really so no correlation between the two. Aintturninround is a riff-based rock song ala Zeppelin/Hendrix etc, Alanis has never made music like that.

Zeppelin, Hendrix ? eek

No, Alanis and Avril. And you're gonna tell me too that this is not a voice alike of Avril and Alanis ?

I like the instrumental but not the vocals, which are grating. Prince would've sounded better on this and I'd like to hear his version if it exists.

Hannah does sound nice on 'White Caps' and 'Stop this Train' though.

Musically this song rocks. But the vocals are like a demon cat from Hell fucking my eardrums with its thorny cock.

Thats how I feel about Hannah on PE - she's just about tolerable on White Caps and Stop This Train but on Ainturninround sounds terrible. And I agree with whoever said she sounds like Avril Lavigne, whose voice I couldn't stand.

.

Ainturninround and Boytrouble are unlistenable to me, complete waste of space on the album. Shame Screwdriver or 2Y2D didnt make it but they did

I wasn't a big fan of Screwdriver but it sure sounds better than most of the songs on Plec, especially the remix which was really good. Screwdriver remix and 2y2d could've saved the album.

Well geez every one said the exactly what i thought about the track confused

1) Musicly it rocks guitar a bit wild near the end
2) Vocaly. Ugh.. Terrible... Which makes it unlistenable

Final thoughts : I gave it a fare round of plays, but its a skipper
I alreay took it off the playlist along with BoyTrouble and Pretzelbodylogic.
I would be embarrassed to play these around anybody lol

Of course im sure there are those who like it biggrin

I like the final part with all the dissonance, but not really the song as such.

I like the song. I agree that if it were Prince singing it it'd get a lot more attention. But I no longer mind Hannah's vocals. I just had to get used to them.

Change it one more time..
