Now we both too sleepy to get the gun? WTF?

Sorry, this line still bugs me. Have no idea what this means. Ruins the song and possibly the whole album!

I actually love that line because it's so surprising (shocking?) but I must admit I have no idea what it's about. Too bad it ruined the song for you, I can relate to how you feel. But surely it doesn't ruin the whole album for you?

Just guessing, but there seems to be a sexual connotation involved... lol

Isn't this song basically just an advocation for cuddle parties?

So one line ruined the entire album for you? And I thought I was mad since Tony M ruined 3 years of Prince's career for me.

It's a pretty stupid line. But it's almost so stupid that it's easy to ignore.

It just means they're too tired to fuck. The gun is his dick. Tick tick bang.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Think this line ruins the song, the whole album and the whole of the Prince back catalogue. Even Maginot is embarrassed by this line

It's all about a sexually charged love/hate relationship.

Pretzelbodylogic = bodies entwined, like a tangled spooning. You know spooning right?

Too sleepy to get the gun = passing out after angry makeup sex

That's my take on it...

Mine too. He mentions "dreamin' of each other on each other's tongue" and tasting the bittersweet undone. Must be some good ass dome. Good skull will do that to ya. Gotta get some sleep. too sleepy to fight.

In each verse, there's a minor adversity or challenge. Rather than argue with the promotor, stress over money or a cramped limonride subjects r too tired/sexed down for fucking/69ing(pretzelbodylogic) to trip(grab a gun). That's how I see it.

I don't thinkn ts about getting wood. Not many a dude...especially prince(Mr. All night and metaohysical purple psychedelic pimp slap) would sing about literal limp dick in a rock song. Jmo.

This implies that Prince and his partner's sleepiness is the only thing stopping them from getting a gun and presumably embarking on a murderous rampage, a la Natural Born Killers.
I am very liberal-minded but I can't condone homicide, even if it is committed by Prince. I will never listen to his music again. Considering his past obsession for the gun microphone and now this clear threat to kill it is apparent that Prince is a very dangerous individual. It appears to me that he shares more with Phil Spector than producing unique collages of sound.

Meh. Nothing new. Poom Poom is actually about the sound of the two shots Prince fired into JFK when he was a 5-year-old assassin.

The man stalked Cat virtually every night in 1988, brandishing a gun, dressed in a quilt and wearing Statue of Liberty sunglasses, and all in full view of the public.
The man is obviously deranged.

He's better off without you. And you are simply off.
It really isn't all that cryptic, but if you've no imagination it's best to keep away from public forums.
Good luck!
