I've never much been into jazz and what very little exposure I have had to this style of music is pretty much limited to Prince's work on the Madhouse, N.E.W.S., and Xpectation albums. But I must say but I did enjoy the NPGQ's performance on the live stream, particularly the slow number at the end of their session. Found it relaxing and warm, and serene, especially with the effused blue lighting adding just the right ambience. Subtle hints of Prince's musical influence come through on both compositions, surfacing at various points throughout (perhaps most noticeably on the guitar parts). Not being a musician, it's difficult for me to isolate out these musical elements and describe them here as I lack the proper language. . "Revelation" is so incredibly dreamy. Does anyone else besides me think it belongs on a Madhouse 32 album? LOVE. IT.

I cant say that im a big Jazz lover either... But i didnt mind the NPGQ performance. I watched after I had already read a bunch of negeative comments over it and the livestream in genral of course... But I thought the NPGQ performance was fine and enjoyable.

I like NEWS and Xpectation - but I didn't hear anything in NPGQ I'd ever want to hear again..no disrespect to the players but perhaps the timing of their performance was to blame too - it wasn't exactly party music....there again I thought ther actual Prince/3rdeyegirl performance was pretty average too IMHO [Edited 10/8/14 3:10am]

* I don't understand your logic that just because you don't like something you hope it's not released. The things that Prince does that I don't like, I just skip. For instance, I disliked "Breakdown" from the moment I heard it. But, because I like the rest of AOA, I just deleted "Breakdown" from my copy. I know that's just one song, but how can someone releasing art that you don't like impact you to the point that you don't want it released? I like the first Madhouse record, but I don't like the second Madhouse record. Thus, I just never purchased it. Maybe you were just being "over the top" for effect, but this site is filled with a "this doesn't deserve to be released" mentality, which is quite illogical when its just easier to ignore things that one doesn't like. * Of course, the second part of your post is asking people to give you their reason for liking it, which is cool because that can lead to constructive discourse.
