The Funnest Release Day in Years Okay, so as I am about to go to bed I just wanted to remark that, as it relates to being a Prince fan, this has been one of the funnest days I have had in a long time. There was and is an excitement to this project that has been missing for the last several years...I wasn't lined up at 6 AM at Target or anything to buy LotusFlower. Opinions will vary, more seem positive than negative, but this release felt like an actual event. Those of you that have followed Prince since the 80s, remember how exciting it was when the first single was dropped and the posters for the new album started to adorn your local record shop. So much has changed, so much about music distribution and artists have become so disposable. But today, I felt like a young lad again, buying the CDs on the first day of release, trying to listen to them at work, jamming to a couple of the songs in the car on my stereo that I can only turn up so loud becuase the volume knob fell off. Of all the things that have changed in the world, one of the things I miss them most is the anticipation and discovery of a new album, by Prince or whomever. Was nice to rediscover what that felt like a little bit today. All good things they say never last...

I started listening to Prince when I was 10 in 2004. The new albums I've got to experience being released are inconsistent whether it be distrubtion, quality, or simply because I had to ask my mom to buy it. AOA and PE were the first Prince albums I went to buy on release day and just experience the albums. With AOA, if I even feel a tenth of what any of you felt when digesting and of his 80's material on its release than you must know, I've had an awesome day. It feels great knowing your favorite artist of all time is back into it. I'm just really looking forward to being a Prince fan and to all the surprises he and WB have planned.

The Prince one answer Q&Aon Facebook and the quirky unintentionally hilarious album release party at Paisley Park live stream made this truly one of the funnest release days in years. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I had more fun when I listened to the albums one week ago. YOUNT! "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"
