1999 and AOA.... Is it me or does AOA sound like a sequel to 1999?
somewhere after the end of 1999, USA and USSR nuke eachother, Prince seeking a place to escape and the money to do so goes into an experimental "suspended animation" project and is awakened 45 years later and AOA is his story...
your thoughts? [Edited 9/30/14 9:03am]

please, somebody just say it already: AOA is his best album ever, followed closely by SOTT, clearly, obviously, face it, accept it, deal with it

I'm not saying it's a good as 1999, the sequel never is, I'm talking about the story, vibe, etc

I think The Gold Standard sounds like a hybrid of Lovesexy and 1999 for sure.

A sequel to 1999 - kind of YES! The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
