Fuck the troll. The metacritic ratings say it all. AOA is a massive critical success. "My God it's full of Stars"

I've always considered Alexis Petridis a bit of a tosspot, but I think the review was spot on. I'm always amazed how such a review - which is generally positive and fair can be taken as a negative and almost personal attack by the loons who think anything less than 10/10 deserves pitchforks and public hangings. |

Exactly.
It's metacritic rating is currently at 75.
That's incredibly impressive.
It's a higher score than Thom Yorke's recent effort, who music critics pretty much always cream their pants over.

if anything, the Prince World of the post 2010-era has bred a TOTALLY NEW kind of fam, that DIDN'T exist before (I think): the blind, hyperbolic, hysterical supporter who will overrate any new thing he releases (something which didn't happen with Musicology, 3121, 20Ten, not even with LotusFlow3r, when the consensus was that Prince had released a very strong guitar album, but not necessarily a masterpiece)
in other words: say hello to the WACKO JACKO-like faMs of Prince...
Ridiculous ramblings just like all of your posts regarding AOA. We got it you don't like it stop posting your trash every four seconds...
.
"don't post your negative opinions but we're all allowed to overhype the album with positive opinions and praise all we want!" Maybe do, just not like did before |

It's sad when posts automatically get the "lock" warning because of arguments. I've been reading on this forum for years before I made an account and didn't use to see them before... it's what made old threads entertaining. It's the internet after all.. Maybe do, just not like did before |

Clouds, which comes complete with lyrics that simultaneously set up the album’s concept – a lot of guff about emerging from suspended animation 45 years in the future – complain about online file-hosting services and dole out romantic advice
Nowhere does that song "complain about online file-hoasting". Thats an enormous leap to make from whats actually said.
The Gold Standard’s attempt at taut, Black Album-style funk isn’t taut enough
Surely it sounds too tight if anything?
This Could Be Us and What It Feels Like aren’t particularly interesting songs,
Not a great deal of depth in that review.
while the lengthy Time stumbles between sounding idiosyncratic and a bit of a mess.
Time doesn't stumble "between" anything. It doesn't really change much. Way back home isn't mentioned at all which is a bit odd since he seems to go track by track. Sloppy review. I don't agree with his opinion about AOC but at least he was able to describe the track.

Nonsense. Prince has always had his rabbid fanbase.
They're here. Hence the ludicrous MJ sticky in non-Prince. |

Eh? Nobody is a victim on this thread.
Lock on what grounds? bickering? More like certain comments just don't tally with yours. Be honest. |

I'm not sure what you're blathering about, but we've had several mod complaints about this thread. One of the members has apologised in private for his part in it now, though. |
