A surprisingly legitimate band effort, 3rdEyeGirl sound like a real band collaborating rather than just another musical outlet for Prince. A few of the girls solo songs sound a little half-baked, but given time I think they could develop.

Wow & Anotherlove are fine, the rest is truly awful. Prince 4Ever.

3/5 . With no lack of effort, P & 3EG bring a rocking album that falls short of their full potential; hopefully a follow up album will prove how well they can grow & develop together as a band.

3.5/5
A solid album, punctuated by genuinely good highlights such as 'WOW' and 'ANOTHERLOVE', but it's deviation into pop (particularly in the middle section) and heavy inclusion of vocals by Hannah, prevents PLECTRUMELETRUM from being the heavy, raw rock album many of us were hoping for.
This album is also somewhat over-shadowed for me by the utter brilliance and genius of 'AOA'. It does have some truly brilliant moments though.

2.5/5 - Better than AOA and with his best production & sound in years, but still no truly worthwhile songs.

2/5 - The majority of the songs on Plec are lame and forgettable Welcome 2 The Dawn

2/5 Leave the singing to Prince please.

3/5 Some really good songs (ANOTHERLOVE, WOW) some not so good (TICTACTOE, STOPTHISTRAIN)

Meh - too many skips, mostly mid-tempos (seemed to "feel" slow) and nice hommage to Led Zepplin on PlectrumElectrum.

2/5 - Proteges amok | |

3 out of 5. A good listen but a missed opportunity for a full rock album, sagging in the middle with newer pop tracks that squeezing out superior efforts such as Screwdriver or a reworked RnR Love Affair. .

9 of 12 tracks outstanding.

2.5 out of 5. Half of it is great, but it's not the raw loud album expected, the diversions into cheesy soft rock are unexpected and unwelcome. "My God it's full of Stars"

3.8/5 - A very good rock band album featuring a competent all female band and a new facet of talent to the multi skilled veteran musician Prince. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I like it , but not as much as I thought I would. It's a bit over produced and watered down. I was hoping for something more raw and hard. I agree, the pop songs are unwelcome. It's a bit of a let down. [Edited 10/1/14 19:58pm]

4/5. The closest thing you'll get to his live sound these days. A varied selection of songs that showcase all of their talents, and personalities, unselfishly. Not without its faults but on the whole a very important Prince release that I think everyone will learn to love in the end. Good packaging and complements AOA very well.

4.5 out of 5. PLECTRUMELRCTRUM is unfortunately overshadowed by AOA, but will be appreciated in the future. To me, it's refreshing to hear him back up his "real musicians" talk ... I have friends who love hard rock and are really impressed by this record. It's brilliant.

It's a better album than AOA and feels like a grower - I just wish it rocked harder! Hundalasiliah!

2.5/5. Associated artist-esque album with nice 'real music' premise but suffers as that seems to be the only aim/criteria. A few good tracks(PBL,PE,Whitecaps) a few ok ones (Anotherlove) and a few awful tracks (ain't turning round, boy trouble). Average if being generous P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent
