wow, was gutted to hear it was a cover, then checked out the original & BOOM! - 3EG/P have taken this to a whole new level.

A great, great song with a Northern Soul vibe. Prince rocks it well and slips a few quid Alice's way. Job's a goodun'.

He didn't give credit to the writers of Miriam Makeba's "Quit it", from which he "borrowed" heavily for "Colonized Mind". Just like with "My Medallion", which was heavily "inspired" by "Spill the Wine" from Eric Burdon & War. And so on, and so on.

As for Another Love, I'm just trying to like the song. I love the guitar & the music. I just don't like the chorus, it really bothers me, as with most of the chorus on this album.

I haven't got the physical album but I read credits online which credited PE to Donna.

Strongly disagree. Alice's original remains the definitive. IMO - 3EG's doesn't have much character.

I strongly disagree with you, I'm not a fan of the original. 3rdEyegirl much version better imho. Original sounds bland to me and I don't like her voice.

This song is my favorite from both albums. Killed it! A little like Joy In Repetition from One Nite Alone. Amazing song.

I'm sure I'll be listening to Alice Smith a bit as well. New music!

I just heard Alice Smith's version today and love it!

I think Prince did a great job too.

I disagree. Alice Smith's version is not bland. It's piano and strings heavy and its beautiful, whereas Prince's version has the guitar and gives it a different sound. I like em both.
