Harrassing some poor editor ain't gonna do much, if Prince wants to do an interview with a guitar mag he'll give them a call himself (and no doubt he'd spend the whole interview rambling about religion and not guitars).

Is that strictly true Ian? I didn't know you could predict the future as well

Actually I seem to remember the interviews he did with Guitar Player and Bass Player and they were the most music-focused features that I'd read, compared to other general music lifestyle mags. What was the interview He did with that Bass Guitar mag around the time of 'Rave...' all about then?
He spent most of the time AVOIDING talking about His Bass playing etc, and instead waffled on interminably about everything and anything else he could muse and rap on. Even on the letters page 4 the next month or 2 people were scratching their heads on that one! It was a real shame, as even though he's a great guitar player, I actually think he's an even better Bass player - SUCH a wasted opportunity I felt

He seemed to totally disregard the focus of the mag and why they were speaking to him... he completely avoided the topic of his bass playing etc. The interviewer was unstandably bewildered. Frankly, although most musicians know Prince is very talented, he doesn't deserve space in musician-oriented magazines like that because he just doesn't deliver the sort of interview that these mags (and their readers) want.

THANKU! Someone who sees sense! WHY does He do it? Im as interested in what HE has 2 say on other subjects - even if I dont agree with them, but 2 me - if u are doing an interview with a (respected!) Bass Guitar magazine, then u talk about just that - frikkin BASS GUITARS etc! I just think it made Him look foolish - He doesnt need 2 'play up' the strange, aloof and quirky angle anymore. It bugs me when he cuts his nose off 2 spite his face, that all
