The coolest thing about that post is to see that WB and NPG logo on a Prince CD again. I hope it's the start of something really special!

Nice work Prince and WB-you can tell he is using a major label.

Don't kidding me, the music is available on I tunes, if you absolutely want to buy it.

If you buy a physical copy, you expect to find something you don't have on the internet such as the booklet.

I almost started a new topic until I saw Militant's. So yeah, I visited my local music store just now only to ask if they'll be getting in both albums on 9/30. He then immediately hands me PE and then says, "Let me find the other one real quick." eek To quote Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys: OH MY FUCK. Made my year. biggrin

Could be. Or maybe Prince wanted more environmentally-friendly packaging. I could see that, being the control freak he is. lol I don't care if they both came wrapped in a potato. I'm just glad they're in my greedy little hands!

Digipaks cost more to manufacture than the plastic jewel cases.

The slim "digisleeves" are cheaper than the jewelcases, but if there's a plastic CD container glued to the cardboard then that's usually more expensive to manufacture.

I switched back to vinyl a couple years ago, but I can't even remember the last jewel case I remember buying. Digipacks are pretty standard these days.

Now that's fantastic, as it's the same kind of excitement I got as a kid at the record store... and that's how I want to get these albums! Nice.

Funniest part about this whole thing. Where I live, there's not even a record store to check in with (only a Best Buy. And they even look at you like you're a weirdo if you ask them for a CD)...wink

I know what you mean. That's why I like to buy from local, small retailers when I can. They still really appreciate their customers!

Prince hasn't released any of his albums, no matter what label (and he's been through all the majors) in a platic case in 15 years.

Art Official Age is indeed his BEST ALBUM in since 2007.

It's better than Planet Earth, better than Purple Lotus/MPLS Sound, better than 20TEN.

I can even dare to say it's better than Musicology.

Musicology?

Really?

I love Musicology

Wow that is great to hear

I agree with some of the other orgers

who want to wait and buy in the store

like the good ol days

then bring it home and listen to it in it's entirety.

Like the good ol days

Yeah! that's what I'm gonna do

I get when I get

the music will still be there waiting for

me to bring it home and blast it...

But I really want in on vinyl so I can watch spin

on my turntable like the good ol days

headbang music party clapping boogie
