Not rave reviews so far then...

It's a good album... Like i said, depends on who's listenting to it, and with what state of mind.

People that keep expecting it to be 80's Prince, I'm sorry they will call it bad, horrible etc... But for 2014, for it to be a Prince album in 2014 in today's sound, it is a good album.

As a whole, it is a good album in my opinion.

Again I will get some flack for saying this... The bad reviews will be coming from those who are "outdated" and are still stuck in the fantasies of Prince releasing another Purple Rain... It's 2014, it's a GOOD strong album.

"menacing beat", rita ora and prince rapping - is that a quote from that Mojo article?

it might be "Art Official Cage" then. Cuz I dont recognize the language and woman at the beginning. There def is rapping. And beat is crazy, but totally stupid.

liner notes say the album features: The Golden Hippie, H.C I II III, Charlotte Ann Telephathy, Andy Allo, 3rdeyegirl, Paloma Ayana.

Who are those people biggrin ?
The Golden Hippie might be Prince...

And sure I know who Andy and 3rdeyegirl are.

But there's no mention of Leanne on liner notes

It sounds like what it is, a 56 year old making 2014 music. That literally sums up the whole album.

I presume 3EG are featured on FNR. Perhaps they are on other tracks too that were originally rockers that got the remix experience?

Its odd that Leanne is not mentioned. Wonder why that is?

Googlising HC I II III and Charlotte Anne Telepathy on the interweb comes up with nothing.

What do the notes say about Josh's influence?

Uncut gave both 6/10.

[Always nice to read an non-org perspective which doesn't feel the need to state that the new album/song/tour is either the greatest / worst thing ever !]

a belgium and a dutch review popped up in the last couple hours,

both gave both of the albums 3/5.

the belgian magazine gave them 3 stars out of 4

er

Everybody is talking about the sound of the album, but what about the songs? I'm just wishing/waiting for something where it's the song itself that gets me going and not the production.
