After what I heard from the new album, I hope he retires. Enough damage to his legacy has been done. This must stop.

If he continues to make records/shows like he did in the past years it does not really matter.

no, that would just be a stupid idea. who would open a shop and just sell pancakes? even greggs don't have special pancake versions. you can't have a greggs without steak bakes and yum yums. you can't have a cake shop without cupcakes and other cakes. you could have a pancake stand with charlie browns friends selling them. but when it comes to minneapolis winters it wouldn't be very pleasant. so it has to be a shop and sell all sorts of cakes. you sound like you haven't thought this one through properly. which makes me think that is precisely what prince would actually do

- Make something new, unforgettable, perhaps epic. Not just one song but a well putt together (concept) album. Take two years for it if you need to. Market and monetize it properly. Do promotional shows, physical singles with B-sides, a proper tour, perhaps a Deluxe version after the tour. I won't mention a live proper DVD.

He's had 4 years for these two cd's, Udo... The answer is plain: his inspiration has run dry.... IT IS OVA!!

Yes, perhaps it is. I was just referring to the results in my initial post in this thread; you mention a possible root cause.

Could very well be. But his need for money aint ova. So maybe some foort in the back-catalogue?

in an ideal world he would release these 2 albums, then do a bit of touring with

either the NPG, 3EG or both and after that just record the occasional track for

consideration on a future album, but spend a few years focussing on getting a

decent set of remasters/deluxe editions out there.

i don't really care for more new music until we have his WB albums all nicely

remastered and expanded. more new projects will just get in the way at this

point. and since he seems to be taking more time to put together albums, it

would be a good chance to finally focus on his back catalogue for a year or 2.

after that he could release a new album each month and i'd happily buy all of

them. but not now. please please please just do the remasters first.

And I want them soon. From 1978-1988: from For You to Lovesexy. 2CD disks each album.

yes the well is truly dry now - please no new albums! just focus on the marvellous masterworks!!!!

It's kind of funny that Prince fans knows his patterns so well, that the question doesn't even say "if Prince is done with 3rdeyegirl, what next, but when".

We shall see what's next. I'd love to see a few new albums from Prince. The best way I would want to re-issue the old stuf would be to re-record them LIVE in the studio or at a concert track by track. I would love to have that!!! I was able to gather most of the live instrumental tracks Prince and 3rdEyeGirl did and those are great! So with all that's been put out recently.....I'm Lovin It!
