Two observations

1. I have not heard the song, but I would imagine this falls into the category of every other Prince song that is released, where everyone on the org tears it apart after the first listen, only to love it after the third. This happens time and time and time again. So quick to judge here, ya gotta let new tunes simmer a bit before you cast them into the abyss.

2. I would be ticked if I was Prince, here he thought this track was safely in the vault, only to find out it was just released by some random person. Although I would like all the Prince music possible, and maybe someday I will hear this track, I can understand why he keeps such a tight leesh on things these days. What's the point of a vault if everything in it seems to be 'outside' of it? If it was my music, it would surely upset me.

IDK, this track has a lot of praise, even since the 30 second clip leaked like a year or 2 ago

Too bad the chorus is such a let down...still cool to hear the entire thing.

Yes, it's very cheesy, a bit too long and the spoken part at the 4 minute mark is cringeworthy. But I still like it a lot more than what I've heard from the AOA album.

does anyone have the original version of emancipation with the alternate lyrics????

This song would have fitted very well on emancipation. It is so sugarcoated and cheezy, that it makes you cringe. A song from his weakest era, that didn't make an album...you can't expect wonders from it.

But still, thanks for whomever put this song out in the open.

I love the vocals, the lyrics are ok, but it definately needs a production overhaul (remix), Ricky P could of done a good job with it. Sounds like a demo at the moment - even a band version with Michael B and Sonny would lift it to anothee level.

Listened to this once when it was leaked. Listened to it again a week later. Listened to it again last night. Yeah, I'm glad this didn't make it to Emancipation. Very bland and boring and goes absolutely nowhere and drones on too long.


I hate to say it, but I'm almost glad he put that horrendous cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me On There" over this. I hate this less, but that one is at least a wonderful song at its core (even though he pretty much nuked that core).
