Prince: Why No 'Deluxe' Editions????

While I am excited to have two new Prince CDs to add to my collection at the end of the month, I am left wondering why he does not offer "deluxe" editions of his CDs. There are brilliant 12" records of his I have on vinyl from the 80's and 90's - filled with remixes, extended versions, and (back then) unreleased tracks that were not on the albums, cassettes, or CDs. I would think that Prince could include such offerings these days by providing the option of deluxe editions - like the ones offered by other artists, and even if they were sold only at certain stores as exclusives (like at Target, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart). Why not?

He and the label probably don't think they could make any money out of it these days but I also loved the days of the 12". I don't really know why he quit doing them.

"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

Purple Rain has been discussed and he's back with WB.

Give them time, I mean Chaos & Disorder 3CD Remastered Special Edition is like a hundred years off.

Those are even farther off: when did he -ever- do a deluxe version?

In his WB period?

In his post-WB period?

Even no that he is back?

.

Stuff was proposed, perhaps promised, but never materialised.

.

Now that WB is involved more sanity might occur, but I will not hold my breath over this.

Especially as the CONtract details are unknown and mr Prince is still involved.

The only thing which springs to mind is Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic.

IDK about that. Deluxe implies additional material/packaging. Rave was not the original album PLUS something, it was an alternate version of the original album.

Some very good points in regards to P never releasing "delux" editions of any of his releases.

.

The only way to get different releases was to get the promos or a Japanese release. neutral

.

Can only come up with the Batcan just off the top of my head. And even that didnt have additional songs. Woohoo!! lol
