Don't let him fool ya

I heard a snippet of an unreleased Prince song called "don't let him fool ya"not that long ago

and was wondering if this song was circulating or leaked. The song is from 82-83 if I'm not mistaken

and from what I heard it's him singing don't let him fool ya in falsetto and chicken scratch guitar.

Yes, this is an unreleased song from 1982. I don't think it's leaked though, it might be that a small circle of people have it.

I just heard the snippet. Apparently it was played at the end of a podcast so the first minute of it is hard to hear, as the person doing the podcast is talking over it but the last 20 seconds of it are clear. It reminds me of a poppier version of "The Walk"

I've got the snippet, it sounds awesome! Wow! Prince must have sent it to the podcast guys, the same way he sent "Adonis & Bathsheba" to a few people last year.

Huh? A&B was leaked by Prince? Where was this substantiated, do you have a link? Thanks.

See? And this is why some enhthusiasts don't want to talk about stuff like this, because of posts like these. There's a sarcastic tone to what you write, calling me 'elite'. I've never considered myself that, not even in the slightest. There was a time when I knew very little about the outtake world. Now I do know at an above average level and I share the info with you folks and get called 'elite' in a sarcastic way for it.

'Thank you' would have been nice, is all I'm trying to say. I have lyrics to share, but how is that proof that I have the track or any other. And even if I did...well, here's a slight rant for you and others that throw epitaphs like 'elite' around willy-nilly.

.

People are tight-lipped about this stuff for a reason. You only get leaks when the wrong people get unreleased tracks in their hands. When selfish people get their hands on it. End of story! The right people understand the reasoning for keeping these tracks from leaking outright and respect it. Let me pass at least one possible 'motive' on to you why such a lockdown of tracks exists.

.

Have you ever wondered about the sources? Maybe, and I don't have the foggiest idea, but maybe the sources of these tracks are of a close, professional relation to Prince. It's a fair assumption, right? Well, do we really need track leaks to happen and then be traced back to these high level folks? You understand that a song leak could potentially damage someones professional integrity, right?

.

If I have anything concrete, you're not likely going to see me going out and about with it on a whim. Me, or anybody else who could potentially have tracks few have. And it would likely be for the reason I've stated already. NOw ask yourself this. If you had a chance to get ahold of, say, Computer Blue (Hallway Speech, CD-Quality Version), knowing that your acquisition of it could trace back to the original source, would you care and still accept the track anyway? Well, I've been called selfish in the past too and the Computer Blue example given would be the epitomy of selfishness on someone who accepts a track with disregard for anyone else.

.

At this point, I'm long-winded, I know that. So let's end this with this: If I post something, it's for informational purposes. I'M SHARING THAT! And I think that's more than fair. So pretty please, with a cherry on top, be nice about it.

Imo, you do kinda come as an asshole [sorry to say confused ]. I, personally think it's lame to share lyrics without ever hearing the full song. It's been a while since Prince has released a new album, & boots are all I care about now anyway. Having bootleg hoarders like you sucks. You could be considered pretty damn awesome, if you'd share them, but you brag by posting only lyrics to them [& yes, it is bragging, imo.]. I could go on further, but there's no use. All you will do is come up with some bullshit excuse. neutral

I would have thought that more people would be talking about this previously uncirculating outtake confused

Anyway, I think this is a badass jam too bad the guy from the podcast speaks over 2/3 of the whole snippet!mad

Hopefully this will start making the rounds as well with no voice overs.

it was recorded in 82 so it's more likely 1999 although i doesn't sound like an outtake from that album

I think the new albums coming soon is helping me in dealing with not having the full song or even more of a snippet.

I think is a little like showing off to put out a snippet and talk over, we don't really gain much from.

That said I have really enjoyed a lot of these podcasts, so I won't complain too much.

What an illogical argument. Why would you expect me, the music listener, to care if a leaked track is traced back to "high level folks"? The only possible drawback would be that those "high level" people wouldn't be able to secure any more unreleased tracks...but then, in your scenario where the correct thing to do with leaked tracks is to hoard them among a small number of selfish and small people (apparently such as yourself), then the listener (such as myself) never gets to hear the unreleased tracks anyway, so who the fuck cares if there aren't any more forthcoming? I can see why *you* would be bothered by that, of course, because not only would you not get to hear unreleased tracks that are not widely circulated, you also wouldn't be able to brag about it.

And yes, you really do come across as an egomaniac. You seriously expect us to thank you for posting some lyrics to an unreleased track along with the information that you have it but won't share it? Fucking christ, get a grip.

I don't expect anything. However, toning the rudness down a bit would go a long way. I won't debate with you, but will instead tell you a little story. A parable, if you will, that you may find some similarities with this thread.

I spoke with another enthusiast of prince music. There was talk about a well-sought track. I asked the person if they had it. They said yes. I logically asked for a trade or copy. They said no and explained why, much how I have explained here. And you know what? I told them I understood and respected their point. End of story.

Take that as you will, but it handles any form of debate that could stem from this thread. Selfishness can easily overtake etiquette. I'm all too aware of that. I wish others would be too.

I explained my reasons. And as irrational as they sound, they are my reasons. And believe it or not, they still actually stand. People pass judgment so harshly in those times and it's rude and selfish of them to do so. Seriously, what do you care if you lead to the harming of someones integrity as long as you get your copy of a song, right?

I care more than that.

I happen to know these people and his reasoning is b.s. They hold on to these tracks like the pervs did with the celebrities nudes on redditt that just leaked... they use their secret hoard as trading cards to get other songs from other secret hoarders.
