Well, they've performed together. Does that count? Some people are like Slinkies...
They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

As far as I know Prince reworked a song from Stevie Wonder including a guitar part done by Prince.
Stevie has written and composed the song, sent it 2 Paisley Park, Prince did his work with the guitar part and give it back 2 Stevie... But I can´t remember the title, sorry...

It was rumoured Prince is on Conversation Peace, Stevie's 1995 album playing a guitar part. While he's thanked in liner notes the guitar part is credited elsewhere so I don't know what evidence there is really.

Conversation Peace. That´s it. Prince remixed the song Cold Chill (title?) but it was never released in any form official or promo.

This is a pretty lame connection, but Stevie played harmonica on Chaka Khan's cover of Prince's song "I Feel 4 U". Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

I had the honor of meeting Stevie Wonder in January of 2002. And of course being the big Prince fan, asked him if he would work with Prince!
He said he would love to! He was very enthusiastic about it and hoped it would! I just told him that that would be fanstastic! I then just told him it was an honor to meet him and he replied that it was too for him to meet me. One priceless moment, wish I would of had a camera for it! But yes, it's on Stevie's mind and maybe on his agenda. Hopefully one day Stevie will be invited to Paisley Park. I remember seeing Stevie also on stage at Glam Slam West in one of those great benefit concerts around the first VH1 Honors awards shows. That was amazing too! To see Prince so excited to see Stevie take over the mike! Prince just sat on the floor and clutched fists in excitement! Never forget that.

Hey everybody, Stevie and Prince have worked together. During Prince's "Ultimate Live Experience Tour" in the spring of 1995, he gave an interview where he stated that he had unreleased duets with Stevie Woner, Lenny Kravitz and Sheena Easton amongs others locked away in his vault. :} He said he would love to! Prince invited Stevie Wonder out to Paisley Park around late 1994/early 1995 to work on some material. I got that from Stevie's Orchestral director during the 1990's, Dr Henry Panion III. I would love to hear more details about this show. Also on Friday, October 17, 1997 after the Detroit premiere of the NPG Dance Company's "Around The World In A Day" performance, Prince{On Drums}, Stevie Wonder{on Keys}, Larry Graham {on bass}, Tony Keys on bass and a few others jammed for 30 minutes at the Intermezzo Restaurant in Detroit. They performed "Thank You For Lettin' Me Be Myself Again", "Superstition", "I Want To Take You Higher" as well as an impromptu jam made up on the spot. WOW!! Steve Marshall

We overheard Prince's lawyer, Londell, mention
that Paisley Park was "in negotiations" with various acts...one of which happened to be Stevie Wonder. Prince is free to work with anyone... Let's hope for an enormous amount of collaboration. Lenny TTD Santana Sly Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

God, I'd LOVE to hear a collaboration between these two. Imagine...
At last year's 'Celebration', Femi Jiya was telling us about his work and he said whilst he ADMIRED and respected Prince, he wasn't a 'fan' (which, is probably why they work so well together, he stated). Stevie, however, he was a HUGE fan of, and had been his contracted engineer for a few years (somewhere in between 'Batman' and 'The Rainbow Children', I presume). I asked Femi if they had ever jammed together; he just gave a wry smile and said "Wait and see" or something. So, who knows??! I love Stevie but the sad thing is whilst he used to be amazingly prolific in the 70's, Femi was telling us how difficult it was to get him to record! He gets up, has a cup of coffee, a chat, cup of coffee, bathes, cup of coffee, chats, cup of coffee, calls a friend, coffee, etc., etc.. Apparently, he's SO chilled out it takes an eternity these days. Femi said he was lucky to get 3 or 4 songs A YEAR out of him! There again, much like Prince, what does Stevie have to prove? He's made his mark - let him rest on his laurels. But I live in hope that someday we'll all see a collaboration between these two visionaries. Prince - get on the phone!!! He previewed his lead off single at last year's tribute concert so all going to plan we get a new album this year. His last two were both in 1995, a studio LP and a 2CD live set.

So would I...but I don't think that today it would be anything groundbreaking. Imagine a collaboration between the Prince of 1987 and the Stevie Wonder of 1973 when he was recording masterpieces such as "Innervisions" and "Talking Book" Stevie's work today is a pale imitation of the genius that once was. Try and compare anything post 80's with "Superstition" or "Living for the City". Unfortunately, in many respects the same could be said of Prince. Sorry guys, just my opinion! --------------------------------------------------

And if not, he really should! I've read somewhere that Stevie was a rolemodel and inspiration for Prince in the early years. What do u ... think? They're very similar in a lot of ways, daDawn. They are both very very gifted, and have a way of lyricising and singing that is uplifting to their "flock". Stevie Wonder's Superstion and Free I find can give me those 'goose-bumps'. I, having nothing, but possessing riches, more than all is a wonderful lyric from Free as is Life, flowing through me, 'til I feel my Father, God has called. That song builds up to a great climax, is very dramatic and leaves you wanting more, without overstaying its welcome. This applies to the music of the Paisley Park Paragon as well, imho. Thanx for the thread, daDawn --------

WB wanted his first album to have more polish on it. Stevie reworked some of the music on Princes first album. He even had a house in Detroit during that time. Stevie's studio there was completely computerized. It's nickname was Alfie. As far as working together on music I can't say but that was back in 1977. sorry if that was over your head...jump up and try to catch the point next time.
