FUNKNROLL on both joints, I wonder.... I wonder if they are the same version on Plectrum and AOF, WOW is a different version than the one on Liv's album, that we know from some of the listening party reports. It stands to reason we could get a different flavor for this tune on Art Official Age.
Whatcha all think?

I've read that they were different versions in a few articles, although I don't remember what articles exactly.

Interesting, so there we have it, 2 different versions. It could have been the Josh one you heard, but Prince is notorius for remixing stuff himself as well, it won't necessarily be that particular version that shows up on the album. We shall see.
Either way though, any remix of a Prince song, regardless of the mixer, is better than no remix at all. I know some will disagree with that last statement, but that is how I see it at least.
thanks all, and especially thedance for layin out those bullet points.

I will listen to it with an open mind, Josh actually does have some musical chops. Some of you should recall the livestream last year where him and Prince were playing the piano together, the dude can hold his own. . . Said this myself, I guess people dont like people stepping on Prince's toes, but for him to be there in the first place let alone share credit for production on an album Prince must see something in him and truly believe he has a talent, he seems a decent fella, young and enthusiastic and If he keeps his head screwed on he'll learn alot.

Wow, well the bar is set so low now for this remix I have no choice but to be pleasently surprised when I hear it "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

You can easily find it on a few bootlegs from the European shows a few months ago. A couple include the tracks played over PA before/after the show.

I love the version that was played on the radio, I'm guessing that's the plectrum version. I read the Art Official Age version was even funkier, but you guys are getting me a little worried, remix is the worrying word as opposed to an alternate version. Is it listed as a remix?

. . Fair point, but he has also got it spot on with others too. Lets wait and see how it turns out

Funkenberry said the remix of FunknRoll will be on Art Official Age and I'm looking forward to it since the one he did on Arsenio was shitty.
