Pretzelbodylogic is awesome I have seriously grown to love this song.
Wall to wall guitars and the bass is just great, so fat and full sounding. listening to it makes me long for Plectrum Electrum. I think we need another taste soon. [Edited 8/20/14 14:58pm]

I think this is the one that made me not care and actively hope he'd move on from this project to something else.

Agreed. Love the live sound of the older trax reloaded but new tunes are lacking...except White Caps. I heard that and Another Love at Paisley and was floored. I don't get it sometimes I feel like he wants to keep the best songs unreleased.

It's one of the worst songs among the new ones imo Welcome 2 The Dawn

Pretzel isnt bad but I could live without it. Its a pretty good song to work out to on high volume and good speakers or headphones. I want to see PlecElec regardless. I heard Wow and some other good grooves and totally flipped. The rest of the songs on the album will be better than Pretzel imo. This Could Be Us But U Be Playin...

I'm glad you like it so much, but I couldn't personally describe it as awesome. I reserve that word for other songs like 'When Doves Cry'. "I'm much too hot to be cool"

I just couldn't get into Pretzel New Power Booty Logic, or whatever. Is it the sequel to New Power Soul? I actually like the music on NPS, but when he starts rapping about duty on the New Power Booty, I can't take it, and I start getting sick. Pretzel has some good sounds until the girls start to sing, and I remember that a good bit of the song is a remake of "Ironman" by Black Sabbath.

Its an ok song. Prince on autopilot imo. We may as well face it though, PE has gone the way of Dream Factory. We may see some of the songs showing up in the future on other releases (if there are ever to be other releases), but thats about it for PE.

I really liked it from the first listen. Chopped off the intro and now only hear it like that, many times better now just starting into the opening guitar part. RIP

Seems like the consensus is that most of us like it.
I like it a lot too. The production is phat and crunchy and the chorus is catchy. Lots of people were singing it at the Birmingham shows when they played it. |

which mix? | |

I think the song is quite good apart from the intro and the awfully cheesy chorus whith a title that is also quite a mouthful; pretzelbodylogic...
Now if you want to make a rock-funk song that is sexy you ought to listen to Lenny's latest single Strut... Maybe not very groundbreaking but it is short, sweet, funky and sexy and with chorus/title that rocks the socks off Pretzel...

I dig it, it's not his greatest, but it's certainly not his worst.

I think it's awesome. It was a rather unexpected sound from him for me at this point and it was a pleasant surprise. The low end kind of envelops u and the guitars punch ya in the nose. He's tried the 'whooah!' at the the intro of a couple songs now since 'another like me'...and they've seemed to have failed in my ears. I think he finally incorporated the 'first roller coaster descent cheer' well on this one and adds an element of 'this is fun don't take it so seriously' to the song and helps make it work.

I really like Pretzelbodylogic also. I have liked all three singles from this album so far. Too bad on the shelving of it. It seemed like everyone outside the Prince hardcore fanbase really liked them also. It had potential. On the flipside, everyone I play The Breakdown outside the Prince world hates that song and the Prince community seems to really like that one. Go figure.

Peanut Butter Jelly so much fun -
Little Purple Prince so much fun -

It is one of my favorite songs to play on guitar. Very fresh chord progression for rock and roll.

My first thought after I heard PBL was "sounds similar to Iron Man". It's not just a crunchy guitar. The songs have similar chord progression. Listen to the riff on the chorus and you'll get it

The band sounds great, the song is more a showcase for the band's sound than an actual good song that could be performed by someone else. It's only hope to be a more subtantial song is to be sandwiched between two songs that somehow give it more credibility. The intro alone is hard to get through.
