Update! Apparently they have changed the name from NP Jazz to NPGQ (Q for quartet), according to Andrew Gouche. He called in to Dr. Funkenberry and said they were mixing the album now and there are 9 songs. He is playing songs from it as I type. TRUE BLUE

Just listened to the tracks that Funkenberry played (referred to above): The Mind of J (I think was the title), apparently written by John Blackwell (in entirety). Now they're playing something else "There's That) written by Marcus Anderson. And now one by Andrew Gouche called Way Back When. The last two are played only in part. Apparently composition's scattered among the members. . The sound is pretty poor, so I kind of regret listening to them. I'm not sure that they would be much to my taste, but I'm sure they would have sounded better in better quality (but who knows--I might like them).

I went and looked at the August 10 show's entry on Princevault, just to see about what it said about titles (to see if it might give an idea of other possible tracks). It listed six from what was reported to be Blackwell's setlist: Hit It and Quit It, Trojan Horse, Eblues, Shaft, 6/8 Joint, Dome. . With the three titles from the spreecast, that would give a total of 9 songs (which is what Gouche said was on the record). . Obviously, there's nothing really saying those 6 appear, or that some or all of the other 3 might not be the same tunes with different titles... but hey, until we know better, why not speculate?

I'm confused, what was this Funkenberry podcast? Is it still online? Princevault doesn't mention it. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

iIt's still up. I didn't watch most of it--seemed to be a lot of somebody's gonna be calling, so hang with us... and then quite a way in he gets the call and Gouche plays the tracks.

Is this a thing? Are these albums happening or is this still filed under speculation?

The link above doesn't work. Here's where I found it.

I haven't watched the early part of it, but Gouche calls somewhere around 50 to 51 minutes in. Conversation and music follow.

I can't help you beyond the titles that I gave above (and I'm not sure I got them correct). Unfortunately I didn't figure out how to save the stream permanently. Sorry.
