Purple Essence isn't legit, just ignore em'

It was/is refering to the Paisley Park contest concert which is slated to happen between October 12 thru the 19th. Funkenutsnberry's posted the dates and rules on twitter yesterday. The October Surprise catchline was created by Funkenberry last year when he was hoping there would be an October Surprise where something would happen for the fans in Minneapolis and the Prince camp took it n ran with it. I believe the account is official as the camp n account take from funkenberry all the time. I think Funk took it from October Surprise elections where something would happen in October to sway the election.

Purple Rain remaster didn't go nowhere, Warners ain't dumb. You can count on a PR remaster at some point in the near future. Don't know when, but it will come.

It makes sense that Prince would hold the PR remaster over WB heads while getting them to push on these two upcoming releases. We have no idea what the details of the agreement really are, what contingencies are in place, and conditions for each party to be obligated to each other, but I'm pretty sure WB is doing their darndest to please prince with Plectrumelectrum & Art Official Age, so they can get him to sign off on PR remastered, which they know represents the REAL possiblity of making money for them.

I'm still wondering how Prince is going to handle remastering or reissuing songs that he now deems too profane to perform (like Darlin Nikki).

If that was the case, they would have more followers. Funkenberry n other band members have helped pe get more followers. 3rdeyegirl has only tweeted about the albums twice since the announcement let alone ever telling anyone whom they should follow.

It was my understanding that Purple Essence were Paisly Park Staff.

Dr Funkenberry also tweeted that fans should follow Purplessence and I've seen other official sources hashtagging that account.

Whether or not it is official, it seems like the Purplessence account was started shortly before the Essence festival performance, seemingly to hype it up. At the time I thought it was someone affiliated with the festival. Who knows.

I bet it's going to be 3EG Live in Paris. He'll wait until november for the PR re-release.

Purple Rain Deluxe in October? That would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be 3 albums all at once. After all this time and no Prince album, I think it's only fitting.

PR will be November, in time for the Cristmas period, October wouldnt fall in a good time of year for sales and is too close to the other album release dates. I would think October Pre-orders, on sale November.

At this stage ...only speculations....not a single word or detail about the PR reissue is accurate or confirmed!

Lets hope its the album with Big City on it and a bunch of other horns heavy tracks.

Not an NPG album, but a compilation of already released tracks is what Dr. Funkenberry mentioned. I guess something kinda like The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse. And I guess this is far from an official announcement.

A compilation? Still sounds good. Dr Funkenberry is indicating that 2YOUNG2DARE, Shades of Umber and Big City are on the album though and they haven't been released. One is a 3RDEYEGIRL track though, so that works in the sense of it being a compilation, not an NPG album.
