Montreux Jazz Festival 2009 To the Fams, Do you remember sometime early last year in 2013 there was an announcement that Prince's 2009 Montreux Jazz Festival performances were going to be released and there was even a video teaser on his website thinking that it was going to come out.So far,zilch.Please forgive me if this has been asked before but what happened to it?I thought Prince and his band ,including the powerful and great drummer John Blackwell(Prince's best drummer ever)were burning on all cylinders.A concert with rarely performed songs with a fewer hits.That's what I love in a Prince show! | |

He had something to porve I guess. I play these gigs every 2 weeks and I enjoy them thoroughly. (also with the Nokia club relase that came out after that). Many people in my neighbourhood actuaaly took al liking in Prince after I played them this. (prince really seems to underestimate the power of these recordings).
Regarding the promise/teaser....another cry wolf example from the master.

these shows are pretty great for late period prince standards .. they used to be easily found and downloaded .. not so sure anymore .. i've lost track of all the secret blogs that would come down every 4 months but there is a great quality sbd out there .. and you wont have to wait for prince to release it since he is NOT going to release it ever. | |
