"Raspberry Beret" video There is some debate on Facebook on whether or not the Asian girl in the yellow outfit is Nia Peeples. I say it's not. Does anyone know for sure? I thought I saw a thread about her not too long ago? If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

...he now opened himself more to genuine exchange of ideas.
The dancer's name is Kimberly Ann Delfin, a breakdancer known as Popsicle, who appeared in various TV shows in that era. Sadly, she's no longer with us. Search her name and Raspberry Beret and see what you find.
Delfin, Kimberly Ann, a Huntington Beach resident, died Monday after an 11 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 47. Earlier, Delfin pursued a career as a professional dancer and actor. Nicknamed "Popsicle", she danced on "FAME", "Merv Griffin", and several other TV shows and commercials. The break dancer was even featured in Prince's music video for "Raspberry Beret", which won an award for best choreography. Specializing in pop and lock-style dancing, Delfin was responsible for popularizing several moves such as her signature "tut-toes". Her most notable acting performances included roles in "Pretty Smart", "Hunter" and "Who's the Boss", She was especially passionate about giving back to the community. In 2010, Delfin awarded a thousand dollar performing arts scholarship to an aspiring dancer from Huntington Beach High School. She is survived by her daughter, Misha Delfin; her mother, Dina Velarde; her father, Emmanuel Delfin; her siblings, Gina Lachowicz, Roy Celestino, Valarie Delfin, Anthony Delfin, Dwight Velarde, Michelle Velarde and Teresa Velarde. www.dildaybrothers.com Published in Orange County Register on May 13, 2011

Never thought she was Nia, but ALWAYS thought she was beautiful. To think we lived in the same town is wild. [Edited 8/16/14 10:14am]

Nia Peeples wasn't in the video, but Pat Smear (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) was very prominently featured. Still one of my favorite videos!

Nope. I think it before she became famous, so she was just another person in the video at that time.

It's not Debbie Gibson, but the woman did go on to become famous on her own. I can't for the life of me remember who she is offhand, but I want to say she was on LA Law. Facebook, I haz it - https://www.facebook.com/Nikster1969

Debbie Gibson? Only in her dreams!
It was Jackie Swanson.

In 1985, Swanson made her professional debut in the Prince video Raspberry Beret. She and Prince were friends. He wrote a song entitled Palomino Pleasure Ridefor her.
In 1989, Swanson joined the cast of Cheers in the recurring role of Kelly Gaines. Her character was a pretty, wealthy, naïve, Lutheran girl, who would eventually marry Woody Boyd, played by Woody Harrelson. She continued to appear in the show until the series ended in 1993.
