I also think that alot of people searching for a Prince website may not be fully aware/follow him enough to think of 3rd Eye Girl and possibly just search Google or Facebook, with no luck.
.
He should really have his own Website as Prince along with a facebook page set up as him too.
.
He'll get bored of 3rd Eye Girl, then its a case of building up followers again on social media for his next venture. |

I can understand the Disrespected element at play here. It's like these big rich corporations that make billions by making what was a good product with cheaper and cheaper parts. It was the fans that made prince rich. He has plenty of money and people who could help him make a great website that sells his music. Yet he seems to throw these sites up himself as a passing thought and leaves them to rot. It would be like if your favorite organic ice cream got bought out by kellog or kraft or some other poison pushing food manufacturer and they just started cutting every corner, the food tastes bad, you can't find it in your local coop anymore, only in gas stations. You know stuff like that that is just pissing on the customer when once there was an amount of care and appreciation for the fan base. Like prince is now too big too fail so he just doesnt try anymore. It is disrespectful and unappreciative of the love and support he got on his climb to the top. At this point I wouldn't expect better from the little guy tho. It's just not realistic.
Actually, that's very well put.
Well its not though is it "It is disrespectful and unappreciative of the love and support he got on his climb to the top"

Remember when Prince didn't have a website for a few years? And remember when we all moaned about it?
Now he has one and "Oh my god...he hasn't updated it with anything except his silly mugs".

''Silly little mugs'' that no one in his organization has figured out how to place in a box and ship in less than 4 weeks. |

I can understand wanting music vs a mug, but I don't think it's unresonable to expect anyone to purchase a (silly) Prince mug if they'll purchase (silly) Prince attire, poster, etc....what's the difference?
As far as the site is concerned, maybe, he has future plans for it, who knows. Wait and see, or not... or maybe, the op will get their wish!

Direct result of Prince spending the least possible money on any venture. If he could find a way around minimum wage for trivial things like this, he'd probably do it. |

Speak for yourself.
Yes I shall speak for myself and add that I was one of those folks that complained that he didn't have a website for a very long time. Now he has one and I think it's just fine.
Am I complaining that he hasn't updated it today, yesterday, last week? No I'm not. Am I happy that he has actually used it quite well i.e. releasing new music (which is the point right?)? Yes I am happy with how he has used it. Concert schedules and tickets? That's covered.
I don't need Prince to be satisfying me every day. Further to that, I think some of us on here need to get on with their lives and not be thinking that Prince owns us anything. He doesn't.
The website is just fine. You'll live through this too just like every other teeny tiny Prince move you've disagreed with. |

I pre ordered my mug. It came 7 months later and was already being sold at bed bath and beyond before I got mine. And it was cheaper at BB+B. Plus my mug was just blank white with a website link to download a 3eg sticker. Yay! |

I think it was just set up to see how many people would want to buy new 3rdeyegirl music. Now that they know there is little or no demand for new stuff, it just sits there like nothing.
I bet they can't even sell mugs. Esp. with those shipping charges. Maybe they need gas money to give Josh when he drives the two mug orders over to the post office?
I was thinking the other day of how many times we've seen the Josh and Hannah act with Prince. You know the routine: Prince hires inexperienced wide-eyes kids to join his band then assigns them all types of tasks and resposibilities that are outside their skillset/job description. Prince goes MIA and disaster ensues as their inexperience leads to multiple fuck-ups, as they become arrogant and defensive, and publicly mock 'haters' before online and financial pressures mount and eventually they are out on their asses never to be seen or heard from again. It just seems like Prince has done this a number of times before already. The best part about coffemug-gate, to me, besides the deal-breaking shipping charges, is that they went up for sale long after 'Breakfast Can Wait' and the Chapelle-skit-pancake-referencing cover flopped. Didn't they know? Like now there would be demand for a coffeemug. Priceless. |

Coffee Mug-gate. Excellent. Pretty much sums up Prince World 2013-14.
