It's kind of hilarious that so many of you are upset about there not being any "new" albums, or remasters out right now. I, personally, have MANY other choices to choose from musically to even care that much @ this point (better music than anything I've heard from Prince in the last 5 years & beyond ). When he finally does release whatever album[s] he releases, [mostly] all of you are only going to complain about how bad it sucks. The long hiatus shouldn't be much of a shock anyway. Did you all really think that Prince was going to continuously drop a album every year?? Prince IS in his mid fifties. To be honest, I would just really like for someone to release another collection of boots with good sound quality. I don't even need a new Prince album per-say. When the new music & remasters come out, I'll be there. But I'm not going to stress one bit. Got too many other things to occupy my time.



So, my point is.......find some other music/hobby's to take your mind off of a "new" album, or remaster. Watch a movie, watch some porn, get some extra hours @ work, clean up your house, tie up some loose ends, balance your check book, go to the park, fall in love, & just.......chill.

One has to keep in mind that being a Prince fan is like taking the prettiest girl in high school to the prom. Sure, she's going to make you wait, her father wants to kill you, and you're going to spend a whole mess of money not really know what you'll get in return. But, she's still the prettiest girl in school. And, she has a vagina.

Imo, the im-patience is Prince's fault, he has after all released a LOT of small teasers/ samples....

I just wonder will I experience a new great Prince album before I die...?

in the next 10-15 years...

Or is it all over, is Prince out done, washed up as an artist... ????

It's possible that when Prince gets older ( and hopefully realise that its not important to have hit singles and tryin to approach a younger audience all the time) and aren't able tour that much he will be more relaxed and spend more time writing better songs. Only then we might get a great album but that wishful thinking.

I foresee Prince touring up into his 70's like George Clinton.

Your level of patience is a personal choice. Had he not had 2,724 different listening parties for an album he may never release, I may have been very patient. But it's past the point of self-parody. So I say feel free to be as impatient as you want to. Prince has made it clear that he's not going to release this anytime soon, but the method and approach to making it clear was frustrating to a fanbase that has had multiple frustrations with his artist-fan relationship over the years. If the Crystal Ball thing was the only one, he would have been forgiven long ago, but he just keeps the hits coming. He should lay low and not have a single party unless it is within 10 days of an album release.

In fact, Prince has pioneered the listening party for an album that does not exist or have a release date. I've never heard of one that wasn't within a few days of release. Didn't this start in 2013? Early 2013? Sad. So even though the original poster says be patient...

My advice is be patient if you like, be impatient if you like...just don't expect this album anytime soon. Maybe it will be out before U2's album...lol...another nightmare.

I'm with you on that. If only someone had, like a collection of hundreds, perhaps even thousands of soundboard recordings and video performances recorded over a lifetime, and they released, like one occasionaly as the new album or whatever. Wouldn't that be great? Then they wouldn't need to bumblefuck through the recording process and they would be free to do whatever it is they really like to do, since the last few albums prove it isn't really songwriting, per se, anymore. I think those recordings would be valuable, so they would probably store them in a vault, or something and with very little effort they could-- alright, ok, I'll just stop right there.
