Best O(+> album?

The Gold Experience
Chaos And Disorder
Emancipation
Crystal Ball
(yes, it was prince, not Prince)
The Truth
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic
Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic

Am I missing any?

A close tie between TGE and The Truth, with TGE edging slightly ahead for sheer breadth. Then a big gap before the rest.

'nps' was an 'NPG' album - I'm going by credits alone.

Nesci, was the SOTT question a joke? I'm only including strictly 'prince' albums to get a feel of this era - needless to say (imho), SOTT beats any of these (although TGE would be close).

gold experience or the truth...

i think i'll take gold experience just because the truth is so short... and some of the keyboard sounds sound out of place with the acoustic guitars... but i'll put truth at 2nd place...

The Gold Experience

The only other two of any merit are:
Chaos And Disorder
The Truth

The rest is utter wank.

Another vote for The Gold Experience.

I'm tempted to vote for Emancipation over it, but Disc One was very weak, and Disc Three was variable. The second disc was fabulous though.

And as for Crystal Ball... the prince remix of 'Crucial' was an abomination of a beautiful track. And the sleeve notes for 'Cloreen Bacon Skin' hinting that you'd never believe it, but it was all impromtu? How much that reminded me of the bit in Ferris Bueller's Day Off when Matthew Broderick struggles to get a single note out of a clarinet and then proudly tells us :'Never had one lesson!'.

'Chaos & Disorder' and 'The Truth' were also mixed bags with some incredible tracks (In2 The Light, Animal Kingdon) mixed in with chuff.

Rave and NewPowerSoul (his name and face on the cover, his lead vocal on every track - it's a prince album) were much more consistent but lacked the killer tracks (save maybe The Sun, The Moon and Stars).

In days gone by I would have voted with Gold withouth the slightest thought needed. I don't think its aged well, whilst Crystal Ball is exactly the opposite. Didn't think much of it when it came out and now I think its awesome. So Crystal Ball it is, even though in the strictest terms its a collection rather than album

Whatever you say, "Crystal Ball" is NOT a o(+> album. It
was released by o(+> but it is not his album. :huh?:

Anyway, the best o(+> album is "The Truth".
