How long will 3rdEyeGirl last after release of PE? I give them one year max. As soon as they're done doing promotions and maybe some gigs with Prince, they're done. At most one of them will stay tangentially involved in the music industry, maybe play a few state fairs. The other two will go into marketing or communications or retail or something. Maybe manage an Applebee's somewhere, always bragging about how they used to play with Prince. Exhibit A: Boytrouble. You don't release a song on "your" (not really theirs) first album and have a career afterward. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Prince bands have a good reputation. After you play for Prince I'd have thought you could pretty much take your pick of who to play for next - and probably get paid better. . I reckon Prince owns all the rights to "3rdeyegirl". If they decided to stay together I think they could possibly have a future, but get the impression they're all into vastly different styles. . Boytrouble is trashy pop in the vein of New Young Pony Club, Gwen Stefani. I can't say that I relate much but it's got funk. Has anyone deciphered the ... gibberish? [Edited 9/25/14 16:15pm]

Haha, well there are exceptions. Seriously though - the 3rdeyetv "leaks". They're all great players. They won't have a problem finding a life after Prince. If and when that happens.

i hope they get their walking papers after the 30th... and take that shitty wanna-be producer with them

Even at this point, I'd still be willing to bet that they aren't even an active going concern for Prince at the moment. Yes, they're showing up places to do promo, but I bet he's done with them as a recording and touring act. Hell, Andy Allo Prince held on to the facade that they still had anything to do with each other MANY months after all the rest of has figured out that they had parted ways.

I feel Nik West is itching to join the NPG and I do like her but I prefer Ida with the band to be honest. Hannah will be around as long as Josh or vice-versa I would assume. I think so far AOA is getting fairly good praise so that's good news for Josh. Most artists like cute female drummers so Hannah won't have a problem finding work if she left Prince in the next few years. Donna will stick around probably as long as Trevor does and vice-versa. Having your spouses around is a double edge sword though.. Change it one more time..

Well the 3rd Eye Girl album to me is much better than the solo PRince album so I hope they stay around. AOA is pure garbage and PE I like. My noly gripe is that he took Screwdriver and R&R love affair off which would have fit in nicely.

I'm not sure how long it will last or if we'll ever see another album under their name. Prince is known to move on so quick I will take my place, In the great below

PE is a fantastic album. Took me a while but I am now fully on board with it. I hope the band stays together for a follow up album at some point. They are good enough and deserve another go.

I agree with you on that. Boy Trouble is quite funky and different from the rest I quite like the jibberish. It wouldnt have looked out of place on AOA. I like Plectrum Electrum better than AOA

Seems like Prince is far too invested in their social media accounts. I'd say they're "one" for the forseeable future. Back in the day, before the internetz, it was far easier to pull the flag from an associated act and run. At the moment, the fans and media/press know somewhat reliably where to find him after he had a maddening 'pop up' internet strategy. But it's Prince... he could pull his flag when the wind blows another direction and run away.

I thought about using a less qualified description of his manager status, but in the traditional sense of an artist management Prince doesn't seem to go for that anymore. You manage only those things that he wants and needs you to, hence the more qualified description. Kiran I think may handle booking gigs for him and still do certain limited things for him as needed. I don't think she's gone away. But since she lives in London its hard to her to manage the day to day for Prince, hence his need for Trevor. Change it one more time..

Well they have already lasted longer than Wendy & Lisa! Its obvious is more smittened with 3RDEYEGIRL & have mentored them exclusively. So its obvious he is in it for the long haul with them.
Plus integrating Donna & Hannah's husbands into the fold proves it! Wendy & Lisa NEVER made it that far in the band. Except for being in a number one movie with him. But they did well on their own.
He wants these chicks taken seriously! will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

He wants these chicks taken seriously! I know time is a trick, but Lisa was in the band since 1980 and Wendy from 83-86. Plus they didn't have husbands.3rdEyeGirl started last year. Your comments don't make a lot of sense, but for once, folks are agreeing that P made a "masterpiece"! [Edited 9/26/14 11:00am]

This is just silly. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I hope he keeps them around for another album or two. Though I have problems with Plectrumelectrum, it has many moments of brilliance and I reckon they could create some truly great albums. I'd like Prince to keep them as his touring band, and release hard rock albums with them alongside exploring different styles on his own. Hundalasiliah!
