What do you think The Revolution would've sounded like now?

Though the breakup of The Revolution has been one of the life-defining tragedies of my life, I realize that ultimately a creative split was inevitable. (I just wish it could've happened sometime in the early to mid-90s.) Still, if they had lasted, where do you think they'd have explored and arrived musically?

the possibilities are endless. i do think that "electronica" would have been a common word far before the mid nineties, though, if the revolution had remained together.

Probably a mix of W&L's 'erocia' & P's "lovesexy", hmm

That's really hard to say. The Revolution is an 80s sounding band. They were sufficient for what Prince needed in the mid-80s, but music changed in the late 80s and 90s.

Prince wanted a more organic, funkier sound. The Revolution couldn't give him that. The Revolution was a group of musicians who were brought together by Prince to be his backing band. They served their purpose.

:I: admit, when :I: heard The Revolution were split, :I: was devastated.

However :I: think if they were around say even in 94, they'd B a pile of :Pooptoast:.

The NPG 1992-1996 (Please all U die-hards, don't try 2 correct me on this!!!) could annihilate the Revolution.

The Revolution could have moved into electronica. Pink had a huge hit with [b]Get this Party Started[/]. To my ears, that song sounded like it came from the 1980s. But the Revolution wouldn't be able make it without a leader to guide them and give them musical direction.

If they had been capable of making it on their own, they could have just hired another singer and went on without Prince.

Who knows where they would have gone after The Dream Factory.

They would have sounded very very dated! The split was hard, but the right thing!
