It is a strange little track. I like it....I just don't no why. It has whole parts that sound messy, incoherent and out of place. Princestyle.

It has indeed the footprint of "Crucial" all over it. But also a bit of "Adore" and has rings of "Power Fantastic" and "A Place in heaven"

It is just one of these lost gems from his most productive period.

Great to have it.

The time signature is really interesting! Also the way the lyrics sort of slinks around the almost waltz like beat.

What strikes me the most is how artistically ambitious his work used to be.

I have -almost- givin up to hear something really great from Prince ever again.....

So... it doesn't bother me that much that I don't have the access to the rare stuff.

Let others be feeling "important" & "special" because they own something rare that others don't,

that is fine, and ok with me...

I am not the fan of Prince that I used to be, so... never mind the "loss", not to be a part of the inner circle.... whatever that is....

Susan was way wrong. He had so much strong material at the time, so I understand it not making the SOTT album, but it's better than:

Adonis And Batsheba is just another great song Prince could care less about. A shame.

Out of curiosity, what did Susan Rogers say about this one, I've never read her impressions of it. I must say that I think that this would be a slightly odd fit on SOTT, it feels a bit too out there for that album, which to me is a bit more poppier than the majority of 1986 stuff. I could definitely see it on Dream Factory though, indeed the whole song has a very lush, pleasantly dreamy quality about it, which really chimes in with the theme of that album, IMO.

I just hope you don't have "Bart Van Halen" disease where you absolutely hate every single track no matter what...where you no longer "listen" to new music, but just "hear" it. There's a huge difference.

If you can't like The Dance, Fury, Reflection, Call My Name, A Million Days, Future Soul Song....then maybe you should move on...but I hope not.

And I do think a lot of those with access to the rare tracks want to be important, but some have been warned about leaking...but it's really difficult for me to understand why someone would hoard the tracks, so I'm torn on the issue.

I totally agree with your Dream Factory point - this could have easily slotted in there.
