Where you live do they play alot of Prince?

On the road my family a friend and I we're on our way to the great ''Galveston''.

We we're listening to an ''R&B / Funk'' radio station.

All of the sudden, my P came on. (Anotherlovaholenyohead)

They literally NEVER play Prince on the radio where I live.

They last time they played a Prince song was during his birthday (Purple Rain)

During ''STAAR'' test season ''1999'' & ''DMSR''

Controversy (2013)

Pink Cash (2013)

I'm kinda happy that little by little they are putting his music on the radios.

NOW lets put some of his new singles on. I think BCW can get on.

I'm not in a rush though...they don't even play his older songs where I live.

V103 here in Chicago will sometimes give him some love. Call My Name and Future Baby Mama were the last ones I can remember being played to death here. They sneaked Mad Sex into a lunch hour mix fairly recently as well. The oldies stations sometimes play the usuals (Kiss, 1999, LRC, etc...), and I was noticing it a lot more shortly after the PR30 announcement. I seem to hear him less now even on oldies stations.

So much good Prince music; the internet only has so much available more these ears to hear.

I'm going to have to do some random Prince listening one day.

I actually heard DMSR the first time that day and I really enjoyed it.

In my area,we have an Old School R&B station that routinely plays Prince classics:

"Little Red Corvette","When Doves Cry","Let's Go Crazy","Purple Rain","Kiss","I Wanna Be Your Lover" and a few other well-known hits.

Texas is a rather conventional place. They still frown upon him except for some.

I live in Houston. I've been to Dallas and it is an INTERESTING place.

I'm in the DFW also. Which R&B station you referring to? 97.5 or 95.7 or another station?

Do you mean, we (Texans) don't care for him anymore? Because back in 1999, Purple Rain, even Lovesexy tours he was the bomb even Jam of Year and Musicology tour were sold out. It doesn't help he don't come here anymore and tour, he hasn't been here since Musicology and that was April 2, 2004, a whole decade ago! The shock and mad face is directed to Prince for not coming back to Dallas to perform and not directed to you.

The song I hear on the radio most is 1999 (you'd think this was his #1 for 10 weeks 5million sold song lol), followed by Raspberry Beret.

Others I've heard: Kiss, Purple Rain, Delirious, Let's Go Crazy, Little Red Corvette, I Would Die 4 U.

All of these on oldies/80s radio. On oldies you never hear the nineties hits like The Most Beautiful Girl, 7, Cream, Diamonds, etc...

R&G "Grown Folks" Station: Do Me Baby, Adore, When Doves Cry I Wanna Be Your Lover, Soft And Wet(rarely), Purple Rain, Kiss, and heard Anotherloverholenyohead ten years ago ONCE. They used to play

Future Baby Mama and Call My Name, but it's been four years or more for either of them.

AC "Old White Pop Stations" : Raspberry beret, Raspberry beret, Raspberry beret, and just in case you aren't sick of it, Raspberry beret over and over. Then Kiss, When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy, 1999, Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain(rarely).

Now if you want to hear New Edition, Bobby Brown, Bell Biv Devoe, Boyz II Men, this is the place to be. You will hear their mostly overrated crap hourly to your hearts content. Move to Orlando, or Atlanta.

yeah I live in the area too and you are correct. What I have heard: Baby I'm a Star, let's go crazy (long and edit and album cut), glamorous life, 1999... and that is about it.

I would be down for that!

To you and dannyd5050, I just wonder how we could pull this off.... I don't know any people any more with club connections that would let you play Prince all night except at band rehearsal hall. Any ideas?
