Oddly, I listened to some songs from the album today and didn't know about the anniversary. The album stands up quite well. The movie, not so much--I now think it is junk. The Beautiful One's still moves me, I only listen to the long version of Let's Go Crazy. Take Me With U should have been a hit. Greatest opening of almost any song. Computer Blue is just amazing. A album. All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

Hello Purple Rain's 30th Anniversary. It's really cool getting to see this day. I remember 10 years back, sitting in front of the TV, absolutely NOTHING was on! I flipped pass MTV all the way to VH1 when a high pitched singing caught my attention. A man was dressed in a white blouse, skin tight pants, curly hair and makeup, nothing I'd ever seen before in my life. Think I fell in love with the song he was singing -The Beautiful Ones- and as I continued watching the movie I started to like him and his style. From that day on every time Purple Rain came on the TV I'd be right there! To this day I can still quote every line. From the vineyards of Lavaux back 2 the heart of Minnesota.
