He only does large scale documentaries, Jazz, Blues, Civil War, Baseball etc. Besides I think Burns would be too bland. There are probably other documentary filmmakers better suited to tackling Prince. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..." | |

Ken Burns doesn't make documentaries, he canonizes. His series on National Parks was for me unwatchable because of his pronounced tendency to over-elevate well respected figures. It's likely that most of the subjects, if they were alive and could talk, would say: "You know Ken, I was great I really was... but could you please tone it down? I've got expectations to live up to." | |
