The writer's ranking of the albums from worst to best is so far removed from conventional wisdom it's gob-smacking. The placing of his favourite 3 albums (Purple Rain, Sign O' The Times and Lovesexy) is unlikely to cause much argument but ranking The Black Album as Prince's worst is plain crazy and there's plenty of other mad decisions throughout the listing.

The guy is also a terrible writer - reading his turgid prose is like snorkelling through raw sewage - but I thought I'd still post the link so we can have fun pulling the article to pieces.

Everyone has their own top Prince albums, no biggie, and other than Emancipation and Diamonds and Pearls being in the top 10, it's not the worst top ten in the world. But in my opinion nothing from the 90's should ever be included in the top ten.

I agree that the Black Album is crazy to be dead last. Bob George, Rock Hard and 2 Nigs United alone are some of his best tracks ever. Other than that, I don't think it's the worst list I have read. You find much worse here on the org on any given day.

I'm not a huge fan of Lotusflow3r/ myself, but I though placing it as Prince's 3rd worst album would have caused a bit of controversy on this forum.

I personally think Musicology, The Rainbow Children, 3121, The Gold Experience, Parade, Love Symbol and 1999 appear too far down the list and I'm not sure what Prince or For You are doing in the top 10.
